If you missed its theatrical run at AMC Theatres earlier this year, you’re in luck. Beyond Casual Media’s psychological horror-thriller, The Observance, is finally coming home this August.

What Is ‘The Observance’ About?

The film is a nightmare scenario. A woman wakes up from a five-year coma following a car crash. However, she quickly realizes her entire life has been stolen. An enigmatic religious leader has moved into her home and brainwashed her family. She discovers the rot goes deeper than her own household. The entire town is under the thumb of an insidious cult that will stop at nothing to keep its secrets hidden.

The film boasts an impressive genre cast, led by beloved character actor Ted Raimi (The Spider-Man trilogy, The Quarry), as well as Beyond Casual regulars Kate Dailey and Alec James.

An Award-Winning Pedigree

Directed by Rob Hollocks and co-written by Amy Rhinehart Bailey, The Observance has been a massive hit on the festival circuit. It has racked up 10 awards. It took home Best Thriller honors in both Hollywood and Tokyo and Best Horror/Thriller at the Berlin Indie Film Festival. Cast Kate Dailey and Alec James have also taken home trophies.

“This film has been a labor of love,” director Rob Hollocks shared. “After a well-received theatrical release, this streaming launch enables The Observance to reach a much wider and more diverse audience.”
