If you think losing a game of Uno destroys friendships, wait until you see what happens when the deck plays back.
Floating Rock Productions has officially unleashed the final trailer for its highly anticipated indie horror-thriller, Last Look. Pitching itself as a wicked, claustrophobic hybrid of “Jumanji meets Paranormal Activity,” the found-footage film drags the cozy, aesthetic world of cafe culture straight into a reality-bending tabletop nightmare.
The Lore: A Livestream from Hell
The movie centers on Jason (known to his digital followers as “Java”), a popular social media influencer and coffee shop owner who makes the ultimate mistake for online validation. Looking to spice up a livestream, Jason unboxes a mysterious, vintage tabletop card game.
What starts as innocent unboxing content quickly turns into a desperate fight for survival. Trapped inside his own shuttered cafe, Jason realizes that the game’s five sinister cards impose cursed, literal “gifts” on the player. Every single card drawn summons terrifying, hyper-realistic creatures directly into his reality. In this sandbox, clicking away or closing the app isn’t an option—if he wants to keep his sanity, his shop, and his soul, he has to play the game until the very last card is dealt.
Cozy Aesthetics Meet Raw Dread
Leveraging Floating Rock’s signature VFX expertise and creature design, Last Look turns a familiar, comforting sanctuary—your local coffee shop—into an inescapable, paranoid battleground. It’s a sharp, modern critique of our collective obsession with internet fame, forcing a protagonist who thrives on being watched to survive a nightmare where something is finally watching him from the shadows.
“We wanted to take the nostalgic, rule-bound fun of classic game movies and infect it with raw, modern dread,” says the creative team at Floating Rock. “The creatures are not just illusions; they are visceral manifestations of fear that our protagonist cannot click away from.”
