Looking for high-stakes action, genetically modified muscle, and an avalanche of carnage? Adam Wingard is about to serve up your new favorite obsession. The genre-savant director is officially making a blood-soaked return to his roots with his relentless action-thriller, Onslaught.

One Mother vs. An Army

The setup is beautifully brutal and delightfully straightforward. A rogue unit of genetically engineered super-soldiers cuts a bloody path across the desert. Unfortunately for them, they cross paths with a lethal, decorated Army sniper who happens to be a fierce mother. When her young daughter’s life ends up in the crosshairs, she is forced to unleash absolute, unadulterated hell to protect her family.

The Ultimate Genre Reunion

Onslaught marks a dream-team creative reunion for action and horror aficionados. Wingard co-wrote the script alongside his longtime partner-in-crime, Simon Barrett—the brilliant duo behind modern cult classics like You’re Next and The Guest. Translation? Expect razor-sharp pacing, a pulse-pounding synth score, and endlessly inventive violence.

The film is produced by Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, Adam Wingard, Jeremy Platt, Alexander Black, and Simon Barrett.

A Loaded Cast of Fan Favorites

The cast list for Onslaught reads like a fever-dream lineup of genre legends, rising stars, and comedic wildcards. Adria Arjona (Hit Man, Andor) takes center stage alongside Dan Stevens (The Terror: Devil in Silverl), marking a fan-favorite reunion for Stevens and the Wingard/Barrett team. Rebecca Hall (Godzilla x Kong), Drew Starkey (Outer Banks), and action icon Michael Biehn (The Terminator, Aliens) join the action.

Reginald VelJohnson (Die Hard), Eric Wareheim (Tim and Eric Awesome Show), and former UFC Champion Alex Pereira are bringing real-life fight power to the screen.

Whether you caught the buzz at SDCC or you’re just waiting for the biggest screen possible, Onslaught is shaping up to be a retro-fueled spectacle that refuses to pull a single punch.
