Dark Secrets in the Manor
Adapted directly from the acclaimed novel by author Virginia Feito herself, the film casts Monroe as Winifred, an eccentric governess. She arrives at a remote, gloomy gothic estate to care for a wealthy family’s children.
Naturally, it doesn’t take long for the manor’s staff and residents to notice that something is deeply, terribly wrong. Beneath Winifred’s delicate, polite exterior lies a dark and bloody secret. She, however, isn’t just a quiet teacher. She is a ruthless, cold-blooded 19th-century serial killer.
A Masterclass Genre Ensemble
Under the direction of Zachary Wigon (Sanctuary) and produced by Longlegs producer Dan Kagan, the period nightmare boasts an absolute powerhouse cast alongside Monroe. That includes Thomasin McKenzie (Last Night in Soho), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, The Pit), and Evie Templeton (Wednesday Season 2). Ruth Wilson (Luther, His Dark Materials), Amy De Bhrún (Vikings), and Jacobi Jupe (Hamnet) co-star.
