Paramount Pictures has officially set a summer release date for one of the most anticipated horror remakes in recent memory. Written, directed, and produced by Smile and Smile 2 mastermind Parker Finn, the reimagining of Andrzej Żuławski’s 1981 cult masterpiece Possession officially has a release date. The new version will haunt theaters everywhere in June of 2027.
The original horror classic starred Isabelle Adjani and Sam Neill as a married couple in Cold War–era West Berlin. Their bitter separation rapidly devolves into a grueling, surreal nightmare of infidelity and cosmic terror. It remains one of the most intense supernatural films ever made.

Taking on the demanding lead roles previously immortalized by Adjani and Neill are Margaret Qualley and Callum Turner. The new project has even received the official stamp of approval from Isabelle Adjani herself. She specifically gave Qualley her blessing to step into the iconic role.
Joining the lead duo is a formidable supporting cast. It features Madeline Brewer (Cam), Emory Cohen (Lords of Chaos), Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Grotesquerie), Diego Calva (Babylon), and Paul Dano (The Batman).

A powerhouse team of producers is backing Finn’s vision. Jonathan Fass joins Roy Lee, Andrew Childs, and actor Robert Pattinson, with Marc Bienstock on board as executive producer.
