A Cosmic Highway Nightmare
The new horror movie It Ends is currently playing in select theaters. To mark the nationwide push, distributor NEON has unveiled a final trailer showcasing widespread acclaim for writer-director Alexander Ullom’s feature debut.
Trapped on an Infinite Road
The film follows a group of recent graduates heading out on a late-night food run, hoping for one final hangout before their paths diverge. Their routine outing takes a terrifying turn when they pull onto a never-ending, two-lane highway plagued by surreal cosmic forces. Cramped inside a Jeep Cherokee with infinite miles stretching ahead, the friends face a grueling dilemma: adapt to their uncanny new reality or fight desperately to escape it. The atmospheric horror stars Akira Jackson, Phinehas Yoon, Mitchell Cole, and Noah Toth.
Living Alongside the Terror
Rather than relying purely on standard jump scares, the narrative focuses on how people normalize trauma and absurdity. Ullom noted that the movie is fundamentally about how people live alongside horror. He likens the dynamic to that of the doomed family from Hereditary. By constantly recontextualizing the horrific events inside and outside the vehicle, the film grounds its cosmic nightmare in authentic human behavior.
A Rising Voice in Genre Cinema
The release cements Ullom as a high-profile filmmaker to watch right out of the gate. The breakout director has already been tapped to helm 4X 4: The Event, an upcoming project described as a chaotic blend of Battle Royale, Saw, and Climax.
