Out today on VOD and digital platforms, Lionsgate’s horror-thriller Turning Point completely subverts traditional home invasion tropes. Written and directed by Joshua Wagner (Mimesis), the R-rated film turns a standard burglary setup on its head. Trapped Inside a Zombie’s Den
The nightmare centers on Margot and her partner in crime, a pair of thieves searching for a quick, effortless score. Their heist quickly collapses after breaking into a seemingly ordinary residence. They soon realize the homeowner is in the middle of a gruesome zombie transition. With all exits blocked and their mutating host rapidly losing his humanity, the criminals suddenly become the prey. However, they have one hope: the eccentric neighbor who happens to possess an unnervingly specialized knowledge of the undead.
An Ensemble of Genre Veterans
To bring this claustrophobic, blood-soaked siege to life, Wagner assembled a seasoned cast of genre regulars. Jillian Lee Garner stars alongside Mike Apple, supported by DJ Qualls (The Man in the High Castle, Road Trip) as the eccentric, undead-obsessed neighbor. The ensemble is rounded out by Lydia Hearst (Z Nation), Shane Brady (Doctor Sleep), and Sanchita Malik (Love).
