The Oscar-Nominated Shocker The Ugly Stepsister

Leading the charge is writer-director Emilie Blichfeldt’s jaw-dropping debut The Ugly Stepsister, making its North American disc premiere.

A surreal, masterfully crafted body-horror spectacle that earned an Oscar nomination in 2025, the film reimagines classic fairytale lore. All through a lens of grotesque beauty standards and psychological trauma. Hailed by critics as one of the standout horror achievements of recent years, Severin brings this modern shocker home with over six hours of exclusive special features.

Indonesian Horror Royalty Takes Center Stage

Genre fans are also treated to The Sacred & The Cursed: The Joko Anwar Collection. It is an expansive four-disc set celebrating the work of “The Indonesian Master of Horror.”

The release features four of Anwar’s most acclaimed nightmare visions: Satan’s Slaves, Satan’s Slaves 2: Communion, Impetigore, and the worldwide home video premiere of Dead Time. Sourced directly from director-approved masters, the box set packages these modern, terrifying classics. It features more than 10 hours of exhaustive special features dissecting Anwar’s cinematic legacy.

A Full-Circle Upgrade for a Cult Classic

Completing the monthly slate is a monumental full-circle release for the label: Just Jaeckin’s fantasy-adventure Gwendoline. Originally released as Severin’s very first film in 2006, the director’s final feature makes its North American 4K Ultra HD debut in a massive three-disc set.

The collection includes both the European and U.S. cut transfers. It is the definitive package, stacked with more than six hours of archival and new bonus material. It marks a triumphant milestone for Severin’s 20-year history.
