gaAMC+ has officially unveiled the spellbinding trailer for “Yaga,” an eight-part contemporary mystery thriller that reimagines the ancient Slavic myth of Baba Yaga.
Created, written, and executive-produced by Kat Sandler, the series is based on her hit stage play. It blends coastal noir with supernatural folk horror.
The newly released trailer features a haunting cover of Donovan’s classic track “Season of the Witch,” performed by Grammy Award winner Alanis Morissette. It teases dark mysteries, murder, and satanic rituals.
A Missing Heir and Ancient Magic in a Coastal Town
The series is set against the eerie backdrop of the small coastal town of Whittock. However, the story truly ignites when private investigator Rapp (Noah Reid) arrives to investigate the sudden disappearance of Henry Park (Hudson Williams), the young heir to a powerful local fishery empire. Rapp’s investigation quickly hits friction as he clashes with apprehensive local detective Carson (Clark Backo). Soon, the trail leads into a dark labyrinth of secret lives, enigmatic suspects, and whispers of ancient magic.
A Stellar Ensemble and Creative Leadership
Alongside Reid, Moss, Williams, and Backo, “Yaga“ boasts an extraordinary ensemble of genre favorites. The cast also includes Sheila McCarthy, Megan Follows, Ezra Franky, Patrick Gilmore, and Katharine Isabelle. Hiro Kanagawa, Emilija Baranac, Georgia Acken, Anisa Harris, and Sam Krochmal round out the cast.

Baba Yaga acts as both a terrifying antagonist and an unpredictable benefactor. Dwelling deep in the woods, she lives inside a hut that stands on giant chicken legs, enclosed by a fence topped with glowing human skulls. Infamous for threatening lost travelers while rewarding the brave and clever, her legacy as an embodiment of untamed, dangerous power provides the ideal foundation for this modern mystery.
Get Ready to Watch
“Yaga” will debut exclusively in the U.S. on AMC+ with a special two-episode premiere on Friday, October 23. Weekly episodes will air on Friday, with an epic two-episode finale on November 27. The series is part of the network’s annual Halloween programming, AMC FearFest.
