FOUND TV is bringing an unsettling new game night to horror fans this October. The award-winning British screenlife thriller Groupchat, written and directed by Dan Brownlie, has exclusively arrived on the streaming service.

Game Night Turns Deadly

The film follows a tight-knit circle of friends reuniting online after an extended hiatus from their long-time game master, Dean. Eager to dive back into their favorite tabletop role-playing campaign, Necromancer. However, the group quickly realizes Dean’s latest storyline has crossed into reality. As supernatural elements bleed through their screens, the virtual session rapidly devolves into a real-time nightmare.

An Ensemble Cast Built for Real-Time Terror

The screenlife feature stars Marcel Jortzik, Amy Tara, Toby Wynn-Davies, Georgie Rodgers, James Grimm, and beloved horror veteran Debbie Rochon. To capture genuine live interaction, the production utilized five cameras simultaneously. All the while, the actors stayed physically isolated in individual locations while performing together live to simulate webcams operating in real time.

An Award-Winning Festival Run Hits Streaming

Before its streaming launch, Groupchat built strong momentum across the genre circuit. The film took home Best International Film at the Halloween International Film Festival. It earned official selections at the British Horror Film Festival, the Black Sunday Film Festival, and the Unnamed Footage Festival.

“Screenlife is such an important part of where found footage has gone as a genre and exploring integrating different styles of media, and we’re excited to have this one exclusively on FOUND,” said Louie La Vella, co-founder of FOUND TV.

Genre fans can stream the film for free exclusively on FOUND TV now.
