My Love for You Is Deep But the Devil Loves Me Deeper (U.S., 2026)

Official synopsis

Alice, a young woman shattered by heartbreak after being dumped from her nebbish boyfriend Ryan, encounters the Devil and makes a deal for “all the love in the world.”

Review

If you have memories of encountering light-night cable TV movies involving “sex from out of nowhere” scenarios and the occasional erotic thriller or offbeat horror outing, you’ll have a decent idea of the vibe that director Casey Donahue has conjured up for My Love for You Is Deep But the Devil Loves Me Deeper. Alice (Emily Whittemore) has had it with her noncommittal ex, and somewhat unknowingly enters a Faustian pact with a stranger in a bar. Poor choice for her but a good one for viewers, as we are treated to her escalating descent into the realm of the demonic. Donahue delivers on his vision, from the opening cable TV announcement to the visual aesthetics to the style of performances on display. Speaking of the latter, Whittemore heads up a solid cast composed of players all buying into the director’s concept. There’s blood, vomited blood, stabbings with a stone knife that was vomited up, sex scenes during which nobody is naked, and much more to blow viewers’ minds. My Love for You Is Deep But the Devil Loves Me Deeper is old-school cable TV-original style dolled up in an analogue modern arthouse aura. It’s an intriguing ride that fear-fare fans with a taste for the offbeat should find well worth seeking out.

Man Eating Pussy (Canada/U.S., 2026)

Official synopsis

A terminally ill man finds solace with an enigmatic prostitute whose inhuman body provides both carnal satisfaction and final deliverance.

Review

Director Lee Lawson crafts a highly unusual, startling slice of body horror cinema with Man Eating Pussy that blends that element with a surreal trip into surprisingly emotional territory. Yes, the title is one that will certainly have some potential viewers second guessing whether to watch, but those who do will find an artful look at a terminally ill older man’s hope and need for a certain type of closure. Horror film legend Julian Richings gives a quiet, thoughtful quality to that character, with Grace Glowicki — who has been on a roll with unique fright-fare films recently including Honey Bunch and Dead Lover — doing excellent work as sex worker Kitty. The actors bring to cinematic life a pair of intriguing characters in a highly unusual situation. Lawson does superb work at the helm, meshing the absurd with the heartwrenching.
