After nearly 30 years (27 to be exact), the blockbuster hit Twister is getting a sequel from Universal.
The latest actor to join the cast of the natural disaster thriller is Nope star Brandon Perea, Variety reports. Perea joins previously announced cast members Daisy Edgar-Jones (Fresh), who leads the cast, Glen Powell (Hidden Figures), and Anthony Ramos (In the Heights).
Frank Marshall is producing Twister 2, whose original earned two Academy Awards nominations and made a massive $495 million at the box office.
Lee Isaac Chung (Minari) will be in the director’s chair for the sequel to Twister, which will land in theaters on July 19, 2024.
