Earlier this year, a new horror slasher, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, set out to ruin our childhood. It turned some of our favorite childhood characters into bloodthirsty monsters. Thanks to its viral success, the director/franchise creator Rhys Frake-Waterfield will unleash the sequel Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 in theaters this week.
Abandoned and enraged after Christopher Robin revealed their existence, Pooh, Piglet, Owl, and Tigger embark on a path of vengeance. The group sets their sights on the town of Ashdown, Christopher Robin’s home. Driven by a thirst for revenge, they unleash their fury upon the townspeople, leaving a trail of bloodshed in their wake.
A Talk With the Director and the Star
I sat down with Waterfield and the sequel’s star, Scott Chambers, who plays Christopher Robin, to discuss the sequel and the franchise’s future. During the conversation, Chambers revealed the huge news that the franchise won’t stop with Winnie-the-Pooh. There is a whole universe in the works, “The Twisted Childhood Universe.” It will see monsters from several upcoming movies meet in a major crossover, The Poohniverse!
A Horror-Filled Future
Blood and Honey 2 is opening in theaters this week from Fathom Events. That and the revelation that a huge horror universe is headed our way, genre fans can be sure that there are plenty of fright-filled nights in their future. Some of the movies you can look forward to are the horror revamps of the classics Bambi, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, and Pinnochio Unstrung. Don’t worry; we will keep you updated on every announcement.
