An actor gets more than he bargained for in the chilling new trailer for The Exorcism, starring Academy Award® winner Russell Crowe.

The Exorcism is from horror mastermind Kevin Williamson (Scream franchise) and Outerbanks Entertainment. Joshua John Miller directed the film, which boasts a script co-written by Miller and M.A. Fortin, the creative duo behind the hit series “Queen of the South.”

Crowe stars as Anthony Miller, a troubled actor battling inner demons while filming a supernatural horror movie. The lines between reality and performance begin to blur. And his estranged daughter (played by Ryan Simpkins of the “Fear Street” trilogy) investigates the source of his erratic behavior. Is it a relapse into past addictions, or is something more sinister at play?

The Exorcism marks a significant milestone for Miller, transitioning him from a seasoned actor, producer, and writer to director. Horror fans will recognize his name – the son of the legendary Jason Miller, who portrayed Father Damien Karras in the classic 1973 film The Exorcist. With his extensive knowledge of the genre and a personal connection to its history, Miller promises to deliver a fresh take on the exorcism narrative.

The Exorcism boasts an impressive team behind the scenes. Producers include Miramax, Kevin Williamson, Ben Fast, and Bill Block. Padraic McKinley, Scott Putman, Andrew Golov, and Thom Zadra executive produce.

Shudder, the premiere streaming service for horror content from AMC Networks has secured the rights to The Exorcism, ensuring the film will be available to horror fans after its theatrical run.

The Exorcism is poised to be a must-see for horror fans this summer. Mark your calendars for June 7th and prepare to be exorcised from your movie summer slump!
