The Incredible Hulk and The Transporter director, Louis Leterrier, is trading massive blockbusters for a much tighter, more terrifying space. Formerly known as 11817, his new sci-fi horror thriller has officially been retitled The Last House. Netflix has just pulled back the curtain, sharing the first haunting images and a summer release date. The claustrophobic story follows a family of four who find themselves suddenly sealed inside their own home. With no way out, they must battle dwindling resources and a mysterious, looming threat outside.
A Stacked Cast Behind a Locked Door
The film features an impressive ensemble ready to face the unknown from behind closed doors. Greta Lee and Wagner Moura lead the cast, bringing plenty of prestige to this high-stakes survival story. They are joined by Riley Chung, Emma Ho, Noah Alexander Sosnowski, and Gabriel Barbosa. Matthew Robinson, the writer behind Love and Monsters, penned the script, so expect a clever mix of genre thrills and heart.
High Stakes and PG-13 Terror
The film has officially landed a PG-13 rating for violent content, terror, and some brief language. Leterrier is producing alongside a heavy-hitting team from Chernin Entertainment and 3 Arts. While this family fights to stay alive, the director is already looking toward his next big sci-fi project for Apple. It seems the man who gave us The Incredible Hulk is leaning heavily into the “unstoppable force meets immovable object” trope once again.
Mark Your Calendars
You won’t have to wait long to see if this family makes it out of the foyer. The Last House is set to haunt your Netflix queue starting August 7, 2026.
