If you think your current living situation is tense, wait until you meet your new landlord. Italian indie studio Games On A Chair—alongside publisher Pretty Soon—has officially pulled back the curtain on FEED IT. This psychological horror game makes “splitting the grocery bill” look like a walk in the park.
The reveal trailer dropped today, and it’s all about jump scares and more about the crushing realization that you are basically a sentient Uber Eats driver for a monster.
The Hook: “Hangry” is an “Understatement
In FEED IT, you aren’t with a shotgun or a magic spell. You’re the guy in a house with a creature that has an extremely high metabolism and a very short fuse. The gameplay revolves around a single, agonizing choice:
-
Feed the Monster: You stay safe, but you slowly starve to death.
-
Feed Yourself: You stay nourished, but the creature in the next room is going to have a very loud, very violent opinion about it.
It’s a” Death” simulator that draws heavy inspiration from the atmospheric dread of classic Silent Hill and recent cult hits like Mouthwashing. Instead of a 40-hour epic, it’s a short-form, replayable experience designed to leave you feeling deeply uncomfortable.
Vibes
The game avoids the typical “monster in the closet” trope in favor of minimalism and emotional pressure. There’s a complex lore dump here; the house shifts, the creature growls, and you have to figure out how to survive the night without becoming the main course.
The devs are leaning into the world’s “sl “ined” natur”, letting the psychological weight of the situation do the heavy lifting.
How to Play (and Pray)
The playable demo hits in June as part of Steam Next Fest. The full release will happen this summer. Go ahead and wishlist it now.
