If you haven’t been watching AMC and Shudder’s latest nightmare fuel, you are missing out on one of the most terrifying horror shows on television. Thankfully, there is still time to catch up before everything completely implodes this week.

AMC+ and Shudder have unleashed an exclusive sneak peek clip from the upcoming fifth episode of “The Terror: Devil in Silver.” Executive produced by and starring the endlessly versatile Dan Stevens (Abigail, Downton Abbey), this six-episode limited series is officially Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and has been a masterclass in psychological dread.

The pedigree behind this anthology season is ridiculous. We’re talking Ridley Scott producing, showrunners Chris Cantwell (Halt and Catch Fire) and Victor LaValle (author of the brilliant source novel), and Emmy nominee Karyn Kusama (Yellowjackets) setting the tone in the director’s chair. You can watch our interview with Cantwell and La Valle as they dive deep into this chilling season.

As we previously noted here at Horror Fuel, “‘The Terror: Devil in Silver’ owes its suffocating atmosphere to a remarkably stacked creative lineup.” And based on the synopsis for this week’s episode, that creative team is about to push the characters straight off the deep end.

Episode 5: “Vermillion” – Premiering Thursday, June 4

With only two episodes left, things inside the New Hyde psychiatric hospital are going from “deeply unsettling” to “absolute catastrophe.” Here is what you can expect from Thursday’s episode:

This week, Director Cleave launches an investigation into a mysterious death. Then, word spreads that New Hyde is officially being shut down. Meanwhile, a flashback reveals Dorry’s very first, fateful arrival at the facility. Back in the present, Dr. Walter performs a completely unnecessary lobotomy. The Devil wants out, and Miss Chris makes the disastrous mistake of opening the silver door. By the time the credits roll, Dorry will lose absolutely everything, and Anand will be the one paying the price.

This episode was directed by Craig William Macneil, written by Christopher Cantwell, and stars Dan Stevens, Judith Light, CCH Pounder, and Aasif Mandvi.

“Vermillion” debuts Thursday, June 4, exclusively on AMC+ and Shudder, with the finale airing next week. “The Terror” is slated to broadcast on the linear AMC channel later this year.

Step inside the asylum and check out the new images and clip on AMC+ now—mind the silver door. Watch the sneak peek at last week’s episode here. Also, be sure to follow this chilling series on Instagram!
