Prepare for a blood-soaked, heart-pounding journey of horror and desperation with A Deadly Ride, a new thriller directed by Glenn Ciano (Inkubus).
Starring Jamie Bernadette (I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu, “NCIS: New Orleans”), B.J. Britt (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Vampires Suck), and Chris Whitcomb ( Junction), the film promises a relentless ride filled with suspense, action and struggle.
In the film, Cary (Britt) is a ride-share driver with a dark secret. Struggling financially, he supplements his income by robbing the homes of his unsuspecting passengers when they’re out of town. His carefully constructed scheme takes a terrifying detour when he picks up Kailey (Bernadette). Kailey, reeling from the discovery of her boyfriend’s infidelity and grappling with personal struggles, is initially oblivious to Cary’s sinister intentions. However, a fight for survival soon unfolds. But she’s not going down without a fight.
“This production was challenging,” says director Glenn Ciano. “A wild and deadly ride, anchored by strong character performances by Jamie Bernadette and BJ Britt, who are on an unstoppable collision course. I haven’t had this much fun making a movie since Inkubus with Robert Englund.”
For Jamie Bernadette, the filming experience was particularly memorable. “Almost the entire film was shot at nighttime in temperatures as low as 2 degrees, and some nights we filmed in a snowstorm,” she recounts. “The harsh conditions created a true-life reality that was more than just the backdrop to the story. It became part of the story itself. I think it truly brought out some great performances in all of us.”
Jacob Cooney and Matt Sagona wrote the screenplay, and David Gere and Chelsea Vale produced it. Anthony Gudas is the Executive Producer, and Richard Switzer of Maverick Film handles sales.
