Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights is officially cranking the volume to eleven this spooky season. In a non-traditional living memorial honoring 45 years of heavy metal history, HHN is unleashing an all-original haunted house: “Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness.”
Spanning the legendary artist’s outrageous, eccentric career, the experience will transform his iconic discography into a living horror movie. Guests on both coasts can board the Crazy Train starting Friday, August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood.
A Sonic Descent Into Heavy Metal Madness
Guided by tracks from solo landmarks like Blizzard of Ozz (1980), Diary of a Madman (1981), Bark at the Moon (1983), No More Tears (1991), Scream (2010), and Ordinary Man (2020), the house will immerse fans in the dark, surreal visual worlds that fueled Ozzy’s music.
“Ozzy never stopped pushing boundaries, and he loved anything that gave fans a new way to experience his music and the worlds he created,” Sharon and Jack Osbourne shared in a joint statement. “Halloween Horror Nights has done an incredible job bringing that spirit to life… It’s a wonderful tribute to Ozzy, and we hope fans have as much fun experiencing it as he would have had seeing it come together.”
Two Coasts, Two Distinct Nightmares
While both parks honor the metal icon, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort are each delivering a unique coast-exclusive spin:
Universal Studios Hollywood: The West Coast experience transports fans back to where it all began in Birmingham, England. Starting with the opening riffs of Crazy Train, guests journey through Ozzy’s early childhood before being locked inside the “Osbourne Asylum.” As you weave through the decades, you’ll come face-to-face with Ozzy’s evolving personas—from Madman Ozzy and Werewolf Ozzy to the true Prince of Darkness.
Universal Orlando Resort: The East Coast house plunges guests into ancient ruins and foreboding dungeons before hurling them onto a “Crazy Train” bound for a realm inspired by the album art of Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, The Ultimate Sin, and Black Rain. Ruled by the Prince of Darkness himself, this world draws from the heavier sounds and sinister imagery of Ozzy’s later career.
“Ozzy Osbourne didn’t just help define heavy metal—he created a cultural phenomenon that has influenced generations of music, art, and horror,” said John Murdy, Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood.
