October Brings a Crimson Storm in Nothing But Blood
The underworld expedition launches this October with Hellboy in Hell: Nothing But Blood. Written by Mignola with jaw-dropping illustrations from French graphic novelist Cyrille Pomès (Moon, 6,000 Miles to Freedom), this collaboration plunges readers straight back into the shadow-drenched landscapes of Pandemonium.
Mourning the Devil in Parade of Horrors
The hellfire peaks in December with Hellboy in Hell: Parade of Horrors. It’s a two-issue event written by Mignola and illustrated by Márk László (Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: Time is a River). Colored by Dave Stewart and lettered by Clem Robins, the storyline follows Hellboy looking for a simple drink. However, he accidentally crashes the Devil’s actual funeral procession. The release features eye-popping variant covers by Mignola and Bridgit Connell.
Unraveling Untold Secrets in the Pits of Pandemonium
Mignola admitted he never intended to let another artist draw his personal vision of Hell. However, László’s passion for the bleak, surreal playground convinced Mignola to plug fresh stories into the narrative gaps of the original run. Fans can expect an unhinged spectacle packed with parading demons, dancing skeletons, bloody brawls, and deep dives into infernal history.
“I hadn’t planned to return to Hellboy’s HELL — I certainly didn’t think I’d ever let anyone else in there. But I love Márk’s work, and when we met he said he wanted to do a story set there. Well, how could I say no?” asks Mike Mignola. “Fortunately, there were a couple big holes between the chapters I’d drawn and I thought Márk would have fun with those two dead soldiers we meet in “The Three Gold Whips” — and he did! I only gave him a rough outline for a story, and he took it from there. And as things took shape, we found a place to introduce a bit more of the history of the place. Every time I think we are done with this thing it seems we find there are just a few more bits and pieces to explore, which I guess is a good thing.”
