The team behind the box office sensations Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3 has just dropped some major news! Fuzz on the Lens Productions has officially announced Stream 2, a sequel to last year’s original horror, Stream!
The big reveal happened at the Days of the Dead Horror Convention in Indianapolis this past weekend, and word is that Stream 2 will “build on its predecessor’s all too real technology-driven storyline while still maintaining the feel of a classic slasher.”
The Dream Team Returns!
Get excited, because the band is getting back together! Michael Leavy is returning to direct the upcoming sequel, and the legendary David Howard Thornton from the Terrifier franchise will be reprising his role from the first movie.
Jason Leavy returns as a producer, with Steven Della Salla also serving as both producer and director of photography. The sequel is already deep in development, with a script outline firmly in place.
The team teases that Stream 2 will further tug on the thread that was revealed in Stream. It will unravel the dark web surrounding a twisted game of life and death.
What’s “Stream” All About?
For those who missed out on the first round, Stream centers around a twisted game where masked murderers compete to rack up the most creative kills possible. The entire gruesome affair is live-streamed for fans at home, who place bets on the action. If you haven’t seen it yet, the original Stream is now available on demand in over 30 countries via Amazon, Apple TV, Google, YouTube, and Fandango Now, with a physical DVD and Blu-ray release scheduled for this summer.
A Word from the Creators
Michael Leavy shared his excitement: “Stream was always meant to be a love letter to the horror community. From the moment it hit theaters the fan response has been overwhelmingly positive and it continues to build on that strong foundation with a fresh Rotten Tomatoes score of 95%, so it’s only logical to give the people what they want … More Blood and More Points.”
Steven Della Salla added, “From the very beginning, we have always had the intention of making many Stream films, so everything about part 1 was basically a promise to horror fans that there would be so much more. Now it is incredibly exciting to follow through on that promise and show how much more there is to this world we’ve created.”
And the return of David Howard Thornton as Player 2 sounds like it’s going to be wild: “I’m excited to return for Stream 2 and explore more of who Player 2 is. It’s great being part of yet another horror franchise that’s driven by the fans and to do it again with this group is a dream come true. From Terrifier to Screamboat and Stream this is a dream team. Stream 2 is going to take the next step forward like we did from Terrifier 1 to 2, but this time we will skip right to 3,” he teased!
