'Green Room' Returns to Theaters to Celebrate Anniversary With Q&As and More

It’s been ten years since a relentless punk rock survival thriller redefined visceral theater experiences. Specifically, writer and director Jeremy Saulnier’s iconic A24 film Green Room. Now, select theater locations nationwide will celebrate this terrifying milestone this October. Moviegoers can experience the ferocious, nerve-shredding masterpiece on the big screen again, Bloody-Disgusting reports.

Exclusive Interviews and Collector’s Merchandise

Ticketed attendees will also enjoy an exclusive pre-film anniversary interview panel. This special broadcast features filmmaker Saulnier alongside cast members Alia Shawkat and Macon Blair. Additionally, practical special effects artist Mike Fontaine shares key behind-the-scenes gore details. But that’s not all; guests will receive a free collectible Halloween popcorn bucket celebrating Saulnier’s upcoming movie, Slayground, whose trailer dropped yesterday.

Custom Culinary Lineup

Wait, there’s more. Host venues are creating a custom Pacific Northwest food menu for the event. First, the Cowcatcher Loaded Mac combines Tillamook cheddar cheese with savory ground beef and bacon. Roasted peppers, onions, mushrooms, and sriracha sour cream top the rich pasta dish. Next, the Ain’t Right Pizza features an inverted sauce structure on an herb-garlic crust. Pepperoni, Italian sausage, San Marzano tomato sauce, and ranch drizzle complete the savory pie. Finally, the vibrant Metal Marg blends Tequila Plata, Midori, pineapple, lime, and Tajín.

Unrelenting Siege Narrative

Crucially, the 2016 story follows a touring punk band playing an isolated venue. Unfortunately, the musicians accidentally witness a gruesome murder inside the secluded green room. Ruthless neo-Nazi skinheads trap the band members behind locked backstage doors. The desperate group then faces a terrifying, bloody fight for survival. Late actor Anton Yelchin stars alongside Imogen Poots and Patrick Stewart in a menacing role.

Upcoming Director Retrospective

This special event also launches a broader celebration of Saulnier’s intense filmography. His long-awaited next project, Slayground, officially arrives in theaters on January 29, 2027. Theaters will host a comprehensive director retrospective series early next year. The lineup will showcase classic features, including Blue Ruin and Murder Party. Retrospective event tickets will go on sale this December.

If you can’t make it to the theater, you can stream the brutal, brilliant film now on Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Netflix, and Prime Video.
