Genre fans seeking post-Halloween thrills can mark their calendars for a new body-horror film. The upcoming horror feature The Restoration at Grayson Manor officially debuts on video-on-demand platforms on Friday.
The narrative centers on Boyd Grayson, a hedonistic heir who constantly torments his legacy-obsessed mother. However, a sudden, tragic accident completely shatters his arrogant lifestyle. Boyd loses both of his hands, prompting his controlling matriarch to pursue radical medical intervention.
Subconscious Prosthetics Unleash Bloodshed
Desperate to restore her son’s physical form, the mother equips him with high-tech experimental prosthetics. These advanced mechanical hands wire directly into Boyd’s volatile subconscious mind. Unfortunately, the artificial limbs quickly begin acting independently on his most violent, repressed urges. Inside the family’s decaying Gothic estate, the uncontrollable hands unleash total carnage across the sprawling manor hallways. A brutal struggle for survival erupts between the strained family members and their staff.
Powerhouse Talent Behind the Production
Former “Glee” star Chris Colfer leads the cast in a dark performance as the tormented Boyd. Veteran genre icon Alice Krige co-stars alongside him, playing his formidable, controlling mother. Krige previously earned widespread acclaim for her roles in Star Trek: First Contact and Gretel & Hansel. Supporting actors Daniel Adegboyega, Declan Reynolds, Gabriela Garcia Vargas, Matthew McMahon, Issac Cairns, and Dave Byrne round out the cast.
Creative Vision and On-Demand Debut
“Tales from Beyond the Pale” and I Sell the Dead’s Glenn McQuaid directed the film, bringing years of horror experience to the story. McQuaid co-wrote the original screenplay alongside acclaimed horror author and screenwriter Clay McLeod Chapman. Brendan McCarthy, Deirdre Levins, Thomas Herberth, Florian Brüning, and John McDonnell also produced.
The Restoration at Grayson Manor promises to deliver an addictive mix of Gothic melodrama, dark humor, and gruesome practical effects. Horror fans can rent or purchase the film on major digital storefronts starting Friday, November 6.
