Sci-fi fans just received an absolute audio masterpiece today. Specifically, the brand-new original thriller Exoplanet officially debuted exclusively on Audible.
Project Hail Mary creator Andy Weir is an executive producer on this ambitious audio project. Acclaimed novelist Benjamin Percy penned this relentless, time-bending nightmare. Additionally, Marvel star Anthony Mackie leads an impressive, award-winning voice cast that also includes Oscar winner Ariana DeBose and John Leguizamo, who also stars in the upcoming movie The Exorcist: Martyrs.
Lost Across Time
Initially, a tragic quantum anomaly violently tears apart the starship Wild Blue Yonder. As a result, the surviving crew crash-lands across totally different historical eras. Strangely, everyone lands on the same deadly alien world. Meanwhile, Chief Engineer Jeff Shaw desperately battles an unforgiving present environment. Guided by a virtual assistant, Mackie’s character wants to reach his daughter. Conversely, First Officer Becca Bang brutally fights for survival in a hostile past. Meanwhile, Science Officer Logan Bowers wakes up in a terrifying, machine-dominated future.
An Alien Threat Across Centuries
This catastrophic quantum wreck was no random accident. Instead, a relentless alien intelligence deliberately feeds on human technology. Worse, this monstrous threat has eagerly waited across every timeline. Therefore, the stranded crew members must communicate across centuries to survive. The story blends heart-stopping survivalism with signature Andy Weir problem-solving.
Immersive Soundscapes and Heavyweight Cast
Beyond the stellar leads, Skywalker Sound crafts incredibly immersive sound design. Composer Rob Cairns also delivers an expansive, thrilling original score. Fan-favorite narrator Ray Porter also voices Shaw’s sharp AI companion. Moreover, supporting talents include Cherry Jones, Sufe Bradshaw, and Charlie Plummer.
