Musician/Actor/Producer Mark Wahlberg is set to star in Paramount’s Home Invasion, described as “Panic Room meets Die Hard”, according to Tracking Board. Wahlberg will also be producing alongside Stephen Levison. Written by Contraband scribe Aaron Guzikowski, the film is still searching for a director and is in the process of casting.
“Pitched as Panic Room meets Die Hard, Wahlberg will play a contractor whose artist wife suffers from an illness that prevents her from being in the sunlight and, as such, he builds a futuristic house that blocks out any natural light. When a band of criminals attempts to break into the house to steal one of his wife’s valuable sculptures, he must evade and outsmart them to protect his home.”
Wahlberg is currently working on another film for Paramount. He is starring in the fifth installment of Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise, Transformers: The Last Knight. You might also know him from the hilarious comedies Ted, Ted 2 and Daddy’s Home, as well as his numerous roles in action films, such as Lone Survivor and Max Payne. You can catch him in the action-thriller Deepwater Horizon, inspired by a true story, due to be released on September 30th.
