Like a page out of Stephen King’s ‘IT’, an apartment complex in Greenville, South Carolina is being terrorized by a men dressed as a clowns. Residents of the Fleetwood Manor Apartments are being warned that several clowns with painted faces, lurking at the edge of the woods, are attempting to lure children with candy, according to the Channel 11 News. They are also allegedly banging on windows and doors late at night.

Management has received ” a lot of complaints to the office regarding a clown or person dressed in clown clothing taking children r trying to lure children into the woods.” WHNS-TV reported.

Residents have received a letter from property management to keep close watch over their children and to urge them obey the temporary 10 p.m. curfew, set in an attempt to keep residents safe.

I thought my child was seeing things,” resident Donna Arnold told CNN. “And then the next day I had about 30 kids come up to me and say, ‘Did you see the clown in the woods?'”

I can’t imagine how terrifying it must be to know that creepy clowns are trying to entice children to join them in the woods. Hopefully, police will catch them soon.
