Warning Spoilers.
The CW’s longest running series and fan favorite,’Supernatural’, will soon have it’s season 12 premiere. So what can we expect to see this season? Here’s what we know.
In last season’s finale Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), Castiel (Misha Collins) Rowena and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) were fighting to save the world from being destroyed by Amara aka “The Darkness” (Emily Swallow). Luckily she and her brother, God aka Chuck (Rob Benedict), worked things out. In the final moment Sam returned home to be ambushed and shot by a mysterious woman.
In the season 12 preview we see that Sam is being tortured by the woman. Dean is going to need all the help he can get to rescue his little brother. Luckily, another hunter is going to lend a helping hand, dear old mom (Samantha Smith). That’s right, Mary’s back. While she’s still adjusting to life back on earth, she and Dean must come to the rescue, Sam who is being tortured by the Men of Letters, which includes the use of a blowtorch.
We will also learn the secret Mary kept from John (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Sam and Dean’s dad. Everyone thought that once Mary and John were married she stopped hunting, but that might not be true. This season, family is going to be a huge part of the story for everyone.
Crowley will also have a reunion with his family on a larger scale. Not only will Crowley’s mom Rowena be back, hints are pointing to the return of his son Gavin (Theo Devaney).
Cas will have his mojo back and he’s on the war path. He’ll be a lot like he was in season 4. We’ll also see the return of the dreaded hell hounds. Lucifer is still free, ruling Hell and trying out new vessels, including the body of rocker Rick Springfield.
Other cast members will also be returning, including Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes) and Deputy Harris (Sonja Bennett). I wouldn’t be shocked if Bobby (Jim Beaver) and Rufus (Steven Williams) make a cameo. After all, just because you die on ‘Supernatural’ doesn’t mean you’re gone forever. Richard Speight Jr. will also reappear as Gabriel.
Don’t miss the season 12 premiere on Thursday, October 13 at 9pm on The CW. The official trailer hasn’t been released yet, but we do have a leaked copy. Be sure to check out the highlights of the season 12 panel from Comic Con 2016.
