The “Dexter” universe is about to get even more exciting. News has come that Uma Thurman has joined the cast of the new series, “Dexter: Resurrection.”

Thurman will play Charley, the head of security for a mysterious billionaire named Leon Prater. Charley is a former Special Ops officer who is described as a resourceful and meticulous right-hand woman. 

Dexter: Resurrection” will see Michael C. Hall return as the titular Dexter Morgan following his presumed death at the end of “Dexter: New Blood.” The series will also feature the return of several familiar faces. David Zayas returns as Detective Angel Batista, and Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son, Harrison. James Remar will also reprise his role as Dexter’s father, Harry, though it will be through flashbacks and fantasy sequences, as Christian Slater portrayed Harry in “Dexter: Original Sin.”   

Clyde Phillips, showrunner of the original “Dexter” series, is returning to executive produce and run the series. Marcos Siega, who directed nine episodes of the original series, will direct six episodes of the new season.   

Thurman’s recent projects include Prime Video’s “Red, White, & Royal Blue” and the limited series “Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber.” She is best known for her iconic role as “The Bride” in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill films, which recently received a new SteelBook 4k UltraHD release.   

Dexter: Resurrection” is set to premiere on Showtime this summer. In the meantime, check out “Dexter: Original Sin,” which allows you to watch young Dexter become the killer we all know and love.
