For what feels like the 50th time, Dimension Films’ has delayed Amityville: The Awakening AGAIN. While the film’s most recent release date was announced as June 30, 2017, this time no new date was given.
Since its original release date back in January of 2016 the film has seen delays, been re-titled, re-edited, and re-cut numerous times.
Earlier this week new footage from the film was unveiled and the international release date seems to still be moving forward, but at this point who knows if we will ever actually get to see the movie.
The film follows Joan, a single Mother, and her three children, one who is very ill. They have relocated to a new town and a new home. Unaware of its history and reputation, the family moves into the Amityville house, where Butch DeFeo butchered his family all those years ago. Things quickly go from bad to worse when the family begins to experience intense paranormal phenomena.
Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Bella Thorne (Blended), Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon a Time), Cameron Monaghan (Shameless), Thomas Mann (Project X) and Robo Cop’s Kurtwood Smith star in Amityville: The Awakening, written and directed by Franck Khalfoun (Maniac) with Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions serving as producer for the film. We will keep you updated.
