After ten years we are finally getting the sequel to Ruben Fleischer‘s Zombieland. Titled Zombieland: Double Tap, the movie will see the return of many of the original cast members as well as several new actors and characters. Speaking of new characters, Variety has announced that Luke Wilson (High Voltage, Old School, Idiocracy) has joined the cast to play a yet to be named character.
Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin are all returning reprising their roles, with Zoey Deutch, Avan Jogia, and Rosario Dawson set to play new characters.
This time around, the comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.
Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have returned to pen this script as well as to serve as executive producers. Gavin Polone is returning to produce.
Zombieland: Double Tap opens in theaters nationwide on October 11, 2019.
