Tigers Are Not Afraid director Issa López is teaming up with Guillermo del Toro for a currently untitled werewolf western (yes, you read that right). López has now teased that the horror film as being very dark, very violent, and a ton of fun.

During a conversation with Collider, she stated, “We started looking at options and he came to me with this idea for a werewolf western and I loved it because who would think of a werewolf western directed by a Mexican woman director? It’s such an odd combination. I would definitely want to see that! And I always want to make good movies that I want to see. So it is very dark, it’s violent and fun!”

“Tigers Are Not Afraid is a haunting horror fairytale set against the backdrop of Mexico’s devastating drug wars. The film follows a group of orphaned children who are unexpectedly given three magical wishes. As they run from the cartel that murdered their parents and the ghosts that haunt them, they must decide how to use this special gift to save their own lives and the people they love.” Pick up your copy on DVD or Steelbook today.
