“The Boys” star Erin Moriarty, who plays Starlight on the superhero series, joins the Twilight Saga star, Jamie Campbell in the upcoming horror film True Haunting, based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Edwin F. Becker, that recounts a true story.
The book chronicles the first-hand account of the real-life couple Ed and Narsha Becker, who move into a new home, quickly discovering that it is haunted. The paranormal activity that plagued the couple made national news when their home became the first-ever to be a televised location for an exorcism. With NBC covering the events in 1971. Not only did the exorcism not work, it only made things for the Beckers much worse.
True Haunting will be directed by Gary Fleder, who is known for directing episodes of shows such as the “Kingdom” and for his fantastic adaptation of the James Patterson novel Kiss the Girls starring Morgan Freeman.
Richard D’Ovidio penned the script, with Blair Butler revising it. D’Ovidio’s previous films include Thir13en Ghosts, The Damned, and Hypnotic, which is now streaming on Netflix. Butler penned the scripts for the films Polaroid and Hell Fest.
