After years of asking if Blade would ever return, we finally have an answer. Yes, the MCU will indeed bring back the vampire killer, however, Wesley Snipes will not be reprising his role in Marvel’s reboot. Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali will be stepping into the role.

During the Marvel panel at SDCC, it was revealed that shooting for Blade begins filming this October and that it will open in theaters on November 3, 2023.

Stacy Osei-Kuffour (“Watchmen”) was recently brought on board to write the script, and Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli) will be directing. Delroy Lindo (Get Shorty, Da 5 Bloods) and Aaron Pierre (“The Underground Railroad,” M. Night Shyamalan’s Old) star alongside Mahershala Ali.

If you blinked you would have missed it, but we got our first look of Ali as Blade in movie the 2021 Eternals. And I have to say, he looks the part.

Several other new Marvel films were announced during the panel including Avengers: Secret War and a new Fantastic Four movie.
