Eli Roth is finally making a feature film based on Thanksgiving, the mock trailer that Roth made for Quentin Tarantino’s 2007 film Grindhouse, Deadline is reporting. . The news comes on the heels of a report that Tim Miller will step in for Roth to do the Borderlands reshoots for Lionsgate so that Roth can work on Thanksgiving. “The Thanksgiving trailer presented the gory teaser about a pseudo movie in which a slasher makes his carving board out of the inhabitants of a Massachusetts town that makes a big annual fuss over the annual turkey day,” Deadline states. “One of the pivotal scenes involved Roth himself, separated from his head while in the throes of passion with a date in a convertible.” Shooting is set to begin in March, with Roth directing from the script penned by Jeff Rendell. Roger Birnbaum and Roth are producing the film from Spyglass. We’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, check out the Grindhouse

Scott Cooper’s (Antlers) new film The Pale Bue Eye has just made its debut on Netflix, and boy, have I been waiting to see it! The film centers on Christian Bale’s Augustus Landor, a retired detective tasked with investigating a rash of murders. Set at “West Point, 1830, when Poe did attend in real life, a cadet is found dead in the early hours of a winter morning. But after the body arrives at the morgue, tragedy becomes savagery when it’s discovered that the young man’s heart has been skillfully cut out. Fearing irreparable damage to the fledgling military academy, its leaders turn to a local detective, Augustus Landor (Christian Bale), to solve the murder. Stymied by the cadets’ code of silence, Landor enlists the help of one of their own to pursue the case, an eccentric cadet with a disdain for the rigors of the military and a penchant for poetry—a young man named Edgar Allan Poe (Harry Melling).

Amongst the many adult agencies, one small start-up stands out amongst the crowd, Lockwood & Co, run by teenagers Anthony Lockwood, George Karim, and Lucy Carlysle. AMC is kicking off the new year with the premiere of “Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches,” hot off the heels of the premiere of Rice’s “Interview with the Interview” series. “The series will focus on an intuitive young neurosurgeon who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. As she grapples with her newfound powers, she must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.” Alexandra Daddario, Jack Huston, Harry Hamlin, and Annabeth Gish star. Esta Spalding (“Masters of Sex”) and Michelle Ashford (“Masters of Sex”) are writing and executive producing the series. This February, M. Night Shymalan‘s Knock at the Cabin, an adaptation of The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay, is set to be unleashed. In the new trailer, Dave Bautista declares a sacrifice must be made. The first image from the upcoming Paramount+ series adaptation of Adrian Lyne’s “Fatal Attraction” has surfaced via Entertainment Weekly’s 2023 preview and features stars Lizzy Caplan (“Castle Rock”) and Joshua Jackson (“Dr. Death”). In the 1987 film, “A married man’s one-night stand comes back to haunt him when that lover begins to stalk him and his family.” “Alex is the villain of the story, and Dan is the hero, and there is no gray area,” Caplan told the site. “Now, audiences have changed so much, we are no longer primed to believe in this villainous woman story. Several shark projects are swimming your way, including Amazon’s upcoming series The Deep, which is based on the 2015 novel by Nick Cutter. The novel garnered high praises from the likes of Stephen King, who said it “scared the hell out of me…. it’s old school horror at its best.” and Clive Barker who called it “utterly terrifying.” “Set in the near future, The Deep centers on a research station at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, where a miraculous discovery signals a new hope for humanity – but secrets unearthed on the ocean floor may hold devastating consequences for the world above.” Deadline reports that C. Henry Chaisson (Antlers, “Servant”) is writing the series for Amazon Studios with Carlton Cuse executive producing alongside Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate (“Bosch”). The new year is set to bring us all kinds of terrifying delights including another Stephen King adaptation. This time it’s a film based on his short story The Boogeyman. Host and “Bite Size Horror” director Rob Savage is at the helm of the film that began filming this past spring and will expand on the original tale. The film’s cast has already been announced and includes David Dastmalchian (pictured), Chris Messian, Sophie Thatcher, Marin Ireland, and Vivian Lyre Blair. In the film, a man named Lester Billings talks to his psychiatrist about the “murders” of his three young children, describing the events of the past several years. His first two children died mysteriously of apparently unrelated causes (diagnosed as crib death and convulsions, respectively) when left alone in their bedrooms. The only commonalities were that the children cried “Boogeyman!” and the closet door was found ajar after discovering their corpses, even though Billings is certain the door was shut.

The Japanese director is now making his move to TV with the series “Connect“, now streaming on Hulu. The series, which features English subtitles, is based on the webtoon of the same name from Shin Dae Sung. And centers on a man, Ha Dong-soo, who is kidnapped, and one of his eyes is removed by a gang of organ hunters. His eye was transplanted into the body of a serial killer. Now the unwilling donor has terrible visions as he witnesses terrifying attacks on the residents of Seoul.
