This February, Blumhouse’s Five Nights At Freddy’s is set to come to life. Casting announcements have finally begun to roll in, with Matthew Lillard (Thir13en Ghosts, Scream, Scooby-Doo) and Josh Hutcherson (Tragedy Girls) set to star, Deadline reports. The long-awaited video game adaptation is finally coming, with the mascots of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza Joint springing to life with a taste for blood. Production is set to begin this February in New Orleans with Emma Tammi (The Wind) in the director’s chair. Jim Henson’s Creature Shop will bring the iconic animatronics to life. Tammi, Scott Cawthon, and Seth Cuddeback penned the screenplay for Five Nights at Freddy’s, which Blumhouse is producing in association with Striker Entertainment. Scott Cawthon and Jason Blum will produce, with Russell Binderserving as executive producer. We’ll keep you posted.

Video game adaptations are a gamble, but it seems Netflix is rolling the dice. The announcement has now been made on Twitter that a live-action feature adaptation of the popular game “BioShock” is heading your way. Netflix will partner with 2K and Take-Two Interactive, the studio that created the game, and its parent company which will be producing the movie, whose details are still being kept quiet. “BioShock” was first released back in 2007. It follows Jack, a passenger on an airplane that crashes into the ocean near the underwater city of Rapture, a haven where the rich and powerful can live out their lives free from the restrictions of land-based governments. But as Jack quickly learns, the city has turned into a horrific den of monsters. The game was a hit and went on to spawn two sequels. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more. One of the biggest musical shows to hit Broadway is Wicked, and it’s getting a movie adaptation from Universal after winning over 100 international awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards, Deadline is reporting. Jon Chu (Now You See Me Too) is in the director’s chair for the adaptation about how a green-skinned woman is framed by the Wizard of Oz and becomes the Wicked Witch of the West. The ensemble cast already boasts some serious talent, including Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Jeff Goldblum as The Wizard, and Ariana Grande as Glinda. Cynthia Erivo (Bad Times at the El Royale) will play Elphaba. The cast also includes Jonathan Bailey, Cynthia Erivo, Keala Settle, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James, and many more. While you wait for season 3 of “The Witcher” to premiere next summer, the upcoming spin-off/prequel, “The Witcher: Blood Origin,” is only weeks away from making its premiere on Netflix. The official trailer is here to give you a taste of what you can expect from its first four-part series event. “Blood Origin” is set 1200 years before “The Witcher” and tells the story of the first Witcher and the events surrounding the “conjunction of the spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves became one. The massive cast includes Minnie Driver (Seanchaí), Laurence O’Fuarain (Fjall), Michelle Yeoh (Scían), Mirren Mack (Merwyn), Sophia Brown (Éile), Lenny Henry (Balor), Jacob Collins-Levy (Eredin), Lizzie Annis (Zacaré), and Joey Batey (“The Witcher,” among others. “Supernatural” star Jensen Ackles joined “The Boys” in season three to play Soldier Boy, reuniting with Jim Beaver, who played Bobby in the hit series. Like many Addams Family fans, I was thrilled to hear that Tim Burton and Netflix were teaming up for the series “Wednesday,” which premiered earlier this month on the streaming giant. I binged the series, and I have some thoughts. In the series, we see Wednesday shipped off to a school for outcasts and monsters, Nevermore Academy. While she hates it at first, she is soon swept up in a mystery surrounding killed students and townspeople after she begins to have visions. Along the way, she makes friends and enemies. First off, let me say that Jenna Ortega was a brilliant casting decision. She makes a fantastic Wednesday and captures the character’s darkness perfectly. However, the rest of the Addams family wasn’t quite so lucky. Catherine Zeta-Jones plays the role of Morticia but lacks the iconic sexiness and elegance of the character. When it comes to Gomez, played by Luis Guzmán, the character is missing the suaveness we’ve come to

Josh Duhamel (Transformers franchise) stars in the live-action movie adaptation of the game The Callisto Protocol which sees a crashed cargo pilot fighting to survive against horrifically mutated prisoners on Jupiter’s moon. Ahead of its release this week, a new red band TV Spot has been unleashed which sees Jacob Lee (Duhamel), crash-landing on Callisto, and Jacob fighting his way through Black Iron Prison. And we have to say, it looks pretty damn good. Directed by Glen A. Schofield and adapted by R. Eric Lieb, the action-packed movie also stars “The Boys” actress Karen Fukuhara. After all the years of rumors and issues, you may be wondering where the upcoming Blade reboot stands. Wonder no more, we’ve got an update. We last heard the voice of Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali as Blade in the post-credit scene of 2021’s Eternals (see the clip below) when Dane (Kit Harington)/ the Black Knight reaches for a sword wrapped in cloth in a wooden box. Before he can touch it we hear the voice asking “Are you sure you are ready for that Mr. Whitman?” Since then writers and directors have changed several times. No worries though, it seems that Marvel has brought Yann Demange (“Lovecraft Country”) on board to direct the movie written by Emmy-winner Michael Starbury. However, the plot is being kept quiet at the moment. It also appears Blade will be “R-Rated” and will have a “dark and gritty tone,” according to Cinemablend. On Halloween, we reported that Henry Cavill will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth for the fourth season of Netflix’s hit series “The Witcher.” The news may have felt like a horrible trick perpetrated by Netflix, but unfortunately, the news is true. And today, we’ve got the first look at Helmsworth as Geralt. Known for his role in The Hunger Games franchise, Hemsworth’s version of the series’ main character looks like a milder version of the chiseled, badass, fighter we’ve come to know and love. While we’re open to giving Hemsworth a shot. Don’t get me wrong, I mean no insult to Hemsworth’s talent, but replacing an established character, especially one that was perfectly cast, is always risky. Why did Cavill leave? According to MSN, the star began to consider leaving in season two due to the fact that he was not satisfied with the direction the show was taking and that he didn’t see “eye to eye with the producers.”
