“Halo” Dethrones “1883” As The Most Watched Series Premiere On Paramount+

The new series adaptation of the hit game “Halo” is already making waves over on Paramount+. The series has broken the record for the “most-watched” series premiere in the network’s history in its first 24 hours, stealing the title from “Yellowstone’s” incredible prequel series 1883 which debuted in December with over 4.9 million views, Deadline reports. The series, which has already been renewed for a second season, is produced by 343 Industries and Amblin Television, and follows “an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant.” In the premiere, a group of rebels are attacked by aliens and the Spartans (nearly unkillable soldiers) come to the rescue, unfortunately, help comes a little too late for many. But for one teen, it’s just the beginning of her journey. Pablo Schreiber (“American Gods”) stars as Master Chief. Here’s Everything We Know So Far About Season 2 Of “The Wheel Of Time”

Earlier this year, Amazon Prime’s series “The Wheel of Time” introduced us to an amazing world of fantasy, magic, and horror. Luckily the series was already renewed for its second season before the first even premiered. The new season began filming this past July. So, the question is, when will season two premiere? With Prime concentrating on their upcoming “Lord of the Rings” series, it’s likely the new season will premiere sometime between October of 2022 and spring of 2023. The series, based on the book’s series by author Robert Jordan, is from showrunner Rafe Judkins and is set in a world where magic exists, but only some can access it, a woman named Moiraine crosses paths with five young men and women. This sparks a dangerous, world-spanning journey. The new season will see old characters return and new ones introduced. ‘Dune’ Star Will Lead The Cast Of ‘Suspiria’ Director’s Cannibal Horror ‘Bones And All’

Director Luca Guadagnino received critical acclaim for his 2018 horror remake of Suspiria. The brilliant filmmaker is back with a new tale of terror, Bones and All, which has just been acquired by MGM. Dune star Timothée Chalamet (pictured), who also starred in Guadagnino’s Call Me by Your Name, is set to star alongside Taylor Russell (Escape Room) in the film described as a cannibal love story. The cast for the adaptation also includes Mark Rylance, André Holland, Jessica Harper, David Gordon-Green, Francesca Scorsese, Michael Stuhlbarg, and We Are Who We Are actress Chloë Sevigny. Screen Daily describes the film as about “two outsiders who embark on a 1,000-mile odyssey through Ronald Reagan’s America. When they discover they cannot outrun their terrifying pasts the pair take a final stand to determine whether their love can survive their otherness.” The script was penned by David Kajganich, who also wrote Guadagnino’s Suspiria. When you think of Ben Stiller you probably think of his roles in comedies such as Meet the Parents, Night at the Museum, and Zoolander. Stiller will now be taking on the very serious role of Jack Torrance in the stage adaptation of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. Ivo van Hove (All About Eve) is set to direct the stage adaptation that is said the be more true to King’s novel than the film and will open in January of 2023 in London’s West End.

“A Plague Tale: Innocence” Game Getting A Series Adaptation

The long list of upcoming game adaptations, including titles such as “Halo,” “God of War,” and “Fallout,” continues to grow with a new TV series adaptation of Asobo’s “A Plague Tale: Innocence” now joining the list. The “A Plague Tale” adaption will be helmed by French director Mathieu Turi, who was behind 2017’s Hostile. Merlin Productions and the game’s publisher, Focus Entertainment, will be producing. Eric Bogosian Cast In Key Role In AMC’s “Interview With The Vampire” Series

The cast of AMC’s upcoming series adaptation of Anne Rice’s “Interview with the Vampire” continues to grow with Eric Bogosian (“Billions”) sinking his teeth into the role of Daniel Molloy, played in the film by Christian Slater, an investigative journalist whose career is circling the drain when he has the opportunity to conduct the interview of a lifetime. Bogosian joins previously announced cast members Sam Reid who will star as Lestat, Jacob Anderson who has been cast as Louis, and Bailey Bass who will play young vampire Claudia. The series is created by Rolin Jones of “Friday Night Lights,” who also serves as showrunner and writer. Alan Taylor is directing the first two of the seven episodes of the first season, which is expected to premiere in late 2022 or early 2023.

Showtime’s “Let The Right One In” Series Adds Three New Cast Members

Showtime‘s “Let the Right One In” series adaptation continues to add to its cast with Jimmie Saito (Sweetbitter, pictured below), Caroline Neff (“Chicago P.D.”), and Josh Wingate (Priest) being the latest to join the vampire series. Previously announced cast members include Damian Bichir (The Nun), Madison Taylor Baez, Zeliko Ivanek, Nick Stahl, Fernanda Andrade, Anika Noni Rose, Grace Gummer, Jacob Buster, Kevin Carroll, and Ian Foreman. The series is based on John Aivide Lindqvist’s novel of the same name was first adapted for a film back in 2008 and was followed by an American remake in 2010. The series centers on Mark (Bichir) and his daughter Eleanor (Baez), whose lives were changed forever 10 years earlier when she was turned into a vampire. Stuck forever at the age of 12, Eleanor lives a closed-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive.

Pablo Schreiber (“American Gods”) stars as Master Chief. Jen Taylor is reprising her role from the video game series as Master Chief’s AI companion, Cortana. Danny Sapani (“Penny Dreadful”), Olive Gray (“Half Moon Investigations”), and Charlie Murphy (“Peaky Blinders”) also star. The cast also includes Natascha McElhone (“Californication”), Emmy nominee Bokeem Woodbine (“Fargo”), Shabana Azmi (Fire), Natasha Culzac (“The Witcher”), Bentley Kalu (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Kate Kennedy (“Catastrophe”) and Yerin Ha (Reef Break). Warner Bros. has just announced that Meg 2: The Trench, director Ben Wheatley’s sequel to Jon Turteltaub’s 2018 movie that pit Jason Statham against giant sharks, will swim into theaters in 2023. Meg 2: The Trench was written by Dean Georgaris, Jon Hoeber, and Erich Hoeber, the same writing team behind the first film (review). Both films are inspired by the novel series written by Steve Alten (interview).
