Jack Huston To Play Shape-Shifter On AMC’s Anne Rice Series “Mayfair Witches”

Earlier this month we reported that “Midnight Mass” star Annabeth Gish had joined the cast of AMC’s Anne Rice series “Mayfair Witches.” Today, we have another casting update. Jack Huston (House of Gucci) has also boarded the series and will play the shape-shifting character Lasher who has been bound to the Mayfair Witches for centuries. Gish and Huston join previously announced cast members Alexandra Daddario (Texas Chainsaw, Baywatch), Tongayi Chirisa ( Antebellum), and Erica Gimpel (God Friended Me), Beth Grant (No Country for Old Men), and Jen Richards (Her Story). The series will “focus on an intuitive young neurosurgeon who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. Rob Zombie’s ‘The Munsters’ Is Nearly Three Hours Long

Fans were thrilled when news broke last year that Rob Zombie was working on a movie adaptation of the hit series “The Munsters.” Casting updates and images have been coming in since. Now, a new detail about the movie that centers on a family of monsters who moves from Transylvania to an American suburb, has surfaced. According to original series cast member Butch Patrick, the movie is a long one, clocking in at just over two and a half hours. Dread Central is reporting that during a recent interview (below) with Patrick on the 20TIMinutes podcast the actor who originally played Eddie Munster had this to say: “This movie is going to kill in a really good way, It’s a very long movie, it’s like 2 hours and 38 minutes … but I’ve seen footage and I’ve seen where he’s going with it and it’s going to be great, it really is.” Will fans love the nearly three-hour-long family-friendly PG-rated

Screen Media Acquires Horror-Thriller ‘Saint Clare’ Starring Bella Thorne

Screen Media, a Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment (Nasdaq: CSSE) company, announced today the acquisition of worldwide rights to the upcoming horror-thriller Saint Clare, starring Bella Thorne (the upcoming Rumble Through the Dark, Time Is Up). Saint Clare follows Clare Bleecker (Thorne), a quiet catholic college student with a divine vocation for killing. Directed by Mitzi Peirone (Braid) and written by Guinevere Turner (American Psycho) and Mitzi Peirone, the film is based on the hit novel “Clare at 16” by Don Roff, whose sequel novel will be released in 2023. Producers are in negotiations with Rebecca DeMornay (Hand That Rocks the Cradle) to join the cast, with the additional casting of other key roles underway. The film will be produced by David Chackler, Arielle Elwes, Thor Bradwell, and Joel Michaely. Lionsgate shared the first footage of Eli Roth‘s (Cabin Fever, Hostile) upcoming film adaptation of the best-selling Borderlands video game during their CinemaCon panel. The one-minute-long clip features stars Kevin Hart, Jack Black as the voice of the robot Claptrap, and Cate Blanchett. While the footage itself hasn’t been shared on the internet yet, The Hollywood Reporter gave one hell of a description. “Lionsgate showed approximately a minute of electric footage that showcased Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett as she’s never been seen before, in a fire-engine-red wig, toting a gun and fighting her way through a vibrantly colored cityscape. Star Fired From Netflix’s “The Fall Of The House of Usher” Following Allegations Of Misconduct

In the wake of the allegations of “unacceptable misconduct on set”, Deadline reports that Frank Langella (Trial of Chicago 7, pictured above) has been fired from Mike Flanagan and Netflix‘s upcoming series “The Fall of the House of Usher.” But there’s no need to worry, his role as Roderick Usher has already been recast with Bruce Greenwood (Doctor Sleep, “The Resident”) stepping in. The allegations against the 84-year-old Oscar nominee reportedly include “making inappropriate comments to a female co-star.” Deadline states, “Langella was the subject of an investigation, which has been completed and it determined that Langella had been involved in unacceptable conduct on set.” Greenwood stars alongside Carla Gugino (Gerald’s Game, “The Haunting of Hill House”), Mary McDonnell (Scream 4), Carl Lumbly (Doctor Sleep), and Mark Hamill. ‘Meg 2: The Trench’ Catches A Summer Release Date

Film news continues to come out of CinemaCon. Yesterday we reported that Warner Bros. had confirmed that The Nun 2 was on its way. Today, we have an update and release date for Warner Bros. action flick Meg 2: The Trench which sees Jason Statham return to face off against prehistoric megalodons once again. The cast also includes Sienna Guillory, Cliff Curtis, Shuya Sophia Cai, Page Kennedy, and Wu Jing. Last we heard, Ben Wheatley (High-Rise) is directing with Dean Georgaris, Erich Hoeber, and Jon Hoeber writing the script for the movie which is based on the 1999 novel of the same name by author Steve Alten (interview) who is currently still releasing new books for the series. It’s been five years since The Meg swam into theaters, so I guess we can wait just a little longer for the sequel, which is set to open in theaters on August 4, 2023.
