Hollywood Comes to NOVA Fest!

The Northern Virginia International Film & Music Festival (The NOVA Fest) expands to new levels with an all-encompassing world of film and distribution. After hosting several hundred films from over 30 countries, branching out into two satellite film festivals in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., adding a Battle of the Bands, and extending the festival to two full weeks of celebration, The NOVA Fest has added a powerful new wing! The Women in Horror Film Festival will be taking place September 21-24 and will feature films, guests, vendors, events and more. The festival is currently open for submissions and seeking terrifying films both full length and short. Winners even have a shot of having their film chosen for distribution by Terror Films. Eileen Dietz to Attend LAKE ALICE World Premiere

On January 22nd of 2017, the indie horror film Lake Alice will have it’s World Premiere at The Indie Lounge in Park City, UT. Although this premier is taking place during the Sundance Film Festival, it is NOT a part of the festival’s features lineup. Among the attendees at the invitation only premier will be featured actress Eileen Dietz, who plays the role of Jane Patterson in the film. Dietz has a career that spans over 50 years, during which she has been involved in numerous award winning projects. Dietz made quite possibly her most iconic on screen appearance in the film adaptation of William Peter Blatty’s novel, The Exorcist. However, she was not credited for her contribution as the face of the demon known as Pazuzu. She also doubled for Linda Blair in some scenes, for which she was also uncredited. Did Arizona Man Capture An Image Of A Demon? (See Photos)

A photo of a dark figure that appears to have wings has gone viral on Facebook. The image, captured and shared by Richard Christianson, a former music producer from Phoenix, Arizona, seems to be of a demon wearing a crown. At least that is what it looks like. The photo, shared on January 1st at 8:11 pm, is a bit blurry and was taken from a distance, but does indeed resemble a demon or an angel. Since being posted the images have been shared over 53, 000 times. Is the photo real? Is it a demon? Those are questions we can not answer. That is for you to decide, but you have to admit it’s pretty creepy.

Days Of The Dead Convention Announces Celebrity Guests For Atlanta 2017

This year’s Days of the Dead Convention in Atlanta will soon be here and we can’t wait! They are already announcing guests, musicians and events almost daily. Some of the biggest names in horror will be there signing autographs and offering photo ops. Genre icons like Linda Blair (The Exorcist), Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), PJ Soles (Halloween), will be there. There will be a ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ reunion that includes Bill Moseley, Bill Johnson, and Caroline Williams. There be not one, but four of the actors who have played Jason Voorhees, including Kane Hodder and Derek Mears. Let’s not forget most of the child stars from the hit Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’ will be attending, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp. As for musicians, Marilyn Manson’s Twiggy Ramirez will be there to thrill us. Suspension of Disbelief in Film Dysmorphia

Suspension of Disbelief? Sit through this annoying video up until the 5:00 mark. The fan boy “host” in the above video talks in attention deficit tweets. The video uses jump cut “hip” editing to spill out unabashed respect and love for the CGI technique that brought Peter Cushing back from the grave in “Rogue One.” He spends the first five minutes elaborating on the incredible work and effort it took create this digital feat. The “host” proclaims, “I think they pulled it off.” Then, being a true “fan” he takes a swipe at all of the work done by Industrial Light and Magic, effects artist, John Knoll and director Gareth Edwards. “Now Tarkin didn’t look a hundred percent authentic,” the “host” whines, “especially the movement of his mouth, but…he looked better than any other time this has been used.” What movies has this guy made? Brooklyn Horror Film Festival Releases List Of Award Winners For 2016

On Sunday, October 16th, the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival came to an end after a weekend filled with films, events, and awards. We just happen to have a list of those awards and their winners here for you courtesy of the film festival.
