HorrorHound Weekend: A Celebration of What We Love to Fear

. Since July 2007, fans have attended HorrorHound Weekend to have the chance to mingle with monsters, monster makers, victims, and final girls. Right now HorrorHound Weekend’s Indianapolis convention is just under four weeks away. “Why should I go?”, you ask. Well, because David Arquette,Michael Rooker, Tony Todd, and Pam Grier will be appearing there. Or maybe because there will also be Fright Night AND Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers cast reunions, as well as many other actors and actresses from some of your favorite classic horror films. Have I whet your appetite, or at the very least do I hour attention? If not, there is much more. There is also MaskFest, featuring the likes of Jordu Schell, Ed and Marsha Edmunds, Robert Kurtzman, and many other talented effects artists and mask makers. George A. Romero Is Finally Getting A Star On The Walk Of Fame !

Romero, a name synonymous with the zombie genre, has long been hailed as a true master of horror. Today, news came from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, that George A. Romero will finally receive a coveted spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Walk of Fame includes the names of those with great achievements in the entertainment industry, that includes actors, directors, producers, musicians, fictional characters (The Simpsons), along with other deserving parties. The location, along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and 3 blocks of Vine, is a popular destination and is visited by nearly 10 millions people every year. Much of the efforts to get Romero his star came from Chris Roe Management, who spearheaded the fund raising efforts during the Texas Frightmare Weekend’s 2015 event. What Is The Tension Experience ?

Today we got a vague and strange email posing a question, “What is The Tension Experience?” So, I decided to look further by visiting the website. According to the message it is a completely personal experience. Participants sign up for an “engaging, multifaceted and completely unpredictable journey…” one that has them “plunging into the deepest depths of their own human psyches, all while piecing together pieces of the Tension puzzle.” Indoctrination begins this Fall, 2016 in Los Angeles, California and the OOA Institute would encourage those interested in taking the path to enlightenment to visit the Tension Experience website to begin your journey today. Let’s build on Eli Roth’s prescient observation. I have written quite a bit on cynicism in filmmaking. If you are just coming to my series, stop here. Go back and read my other pieces. John Carpenter’s First Concert Date Announced For Lost Themes II

Brilliant writer/director/composer John Carpenter will soon release his follow-up to his acclaimed album Lost Themes. Entertainment Weekly reported that Carpenter, through his label Sacred Bones, has booked his first US concert date. The first show will take place at the Playstation Theater in New York on July 8th. Carpenter will be performing both his classic themes and new tracks. Lost Themes II will be released on April 15th.
