Movie Review: ‘Fall’ Keeps You On The Edge Of Your Seat

Lionsgate will soon release Fall, from director Scott Mann. I got a chance to check it out early and of course, I have some thoughts. The movie centers on Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (Virginia Gardner), best friends whose lives are all about conquering fears and pushing limits. Their next conquest is a radio tower, that reaches a height of 2,000 feet. What could go wrong? The majority of the movie takes place at the top of the tower where the two women find themselves stuck with no way down and time running short. You would think that a movie set in one spot would be boring, but with tons of drama, twists, and action, Fall manages to stay engaging from beginning to end. Both stars, Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner played their roles well and were easy to empathize with. I can’t help but wonder how much of the stunts they did themselves. They were rather impressive.

Movie Review: Hellraiser (2022) Offers More Pain Than Pleasure

Movie Review: Hellraiser (2022) Offers More Pain Than Pleasure

The horror genre is abuzz about Hulu’s new Hellraiser, directed by David Bruckner, so, does it live up to the hype? In the beginning, we meet Riley, a young woman who is struggling with addiction while living with her intensely judgemental brother, his partner, and another roommate. After stealing a puzzle box with her boyfriend all hell breaks loose and the cenobites are unleashed, but she’s got a plan. First thing’s first, the movie has a character problem. While the character of Riley is fleshed out, the other’s aren’t. They are cardboard cut out characters and they are simply there to suffer. One of the biggest sources of debate among fans is the new female Pinhead. I have to say, I was rather impressed by Jamie Clayton’s portrayal of “The Preist.” She features a similar look and her voice, only slightly feminine, was a great choice. As for the story, it held classical elements of the franchise, cenobites, chains, suffering,

Ben Kingsley Will Lead The Cast Of New Adaptation Of Neil Gaiman’s ‘Violent Cases’

35 years after publishing Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean’s first-ever graphic novel, today Scary Monster, Lakesville Productions and Foton Pictures have now announced that development on Violent Cases is well underway with Academy Award®-winning actor Ben Kingsley attached in the lead role of the Osteopath led by the creative team behind the BAFTA-nominated The Girl With All The Gifts, director Colm McCarthy, writer Mike Carey, and producer Camille Gatin. At only 50 pages, “Violent Cases” features a narrator, who tells of how, as a small child in Portsmouth, he was taken by his father to be treated by an osteopath ( a licensed physician who uses both conventional treatments and osteopathic manipulative medicine) who was once employed by Al Capone. The nature of the narrator’s relationship with his father, the tales the osteopath told, and the disturbing events that followed, are partially obscured by the narrator’s imperfect recall of things he was not old enough to understand at the time.
