HorrorFuel.Com’s “Top 10 Horror Movies Of 2021”

It’s that time of year again, where we share with you our top 10 favorite horror films of the year. It wasn’t easy to narrow it down, there were so many great films released this year, but these films stood out. 10. Candyman (review) Oscar® winner Jordan Peele unleashes a fresh take on the blood-chilling urban legend of Candyman. Directed by Nia DaCosta (Little Woods, upcoming Captain Marvel 2), who breathes new life into the classic horror franchise.. “For as long as residents can remember, the housing projects of Chicago’s Cabrini-Green neighborhood were terrorized by a word-of-mouth ghost story about a supernatural killer with a hook for a hand, easily summoned by those daring to repeat his name five times into a mirror. In the present day, a decade after the last of the Cabrini towers were torn down, visual artist Anthony McCoy (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II; HBO’s “Watchmen”, Us) and his partner, gallery director Brianna Cartwright (Teyonah Parris; If Beale

Movie Review: Antlers: Was It Worth The Wait?

Director Scott Cooper’s highly anticipated horror Antlers got hit with delay after delay but it is finally available on VOD. The question is, was it worth the wait? I will answer that in this review. The film centers on the 12-year-old boy Lucus, who after his father and brother come in contact with a mythological creature, a Windigo, is left to care for the two as they begin to morph into one themselves. After Lucus’ teacher notices signs of abuse she sets out to rescue the kid, not knowing what she’s about to face. Keri Russell plays the role of Julia, the teacher who is struggling with the memories of the abuse she suffered at the hands of her father. When she recognizes the same signs in Lucus she will stop at nothing to protect him. While Keri did a fantastic job, the true star of the film is Jeremy Thomas, who plays Lucas. He is absolutely incredible. I have

Lamb, which we call “unsettling” in our review, is from director Valdimar Jóhannsson. The horror thriller “is the story of a childless couple, María (Noomi Rapace) and Ingvar (Hilmir Snaer Gudnason), who are sheep farmers in Iceland. On Christmas Eve they find a newborn who is half-human, half sheep. Longing for a child of their own they decide to keep the lamb-child and raise it as their own regardless of the consequences. This unexpected prospect of a new family brings them much joy before it ultimately destroys them.” Watch Lamb now on VOD.

Horror Fuel.com’s Top 10 Film Festival Horror Movies of 2021

This year was an outstanding one for horror films making the film festival rounds, which is where I see most of my movies each year. Thankfully, many films are making it to wider release quicker than in the past — for example, my #1 film of 2021 is already available on VOD, and several of my honorable mentions are on streaming services or on DVD or Blu-ray. Keep the following films in mind because some of them just may be future favorites for you in 2022! 1. The Feast (Wales) Director Lee Haven Jones’ Welsh outing The Feast — a blend of folk, psychological, environmental, and supernatural horror — instantly became my favorite film of the year, regardless of genre, when I saw it as part of SXSW Online 2021 in March. In my Horror Fuel review, I said that The Feast is an “eerie slice of horror cinema that jangles the nerves and does a beautiful job of slowly

Chris Pratt Flees From An Atrociraptor In New Image From ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’

After a long wait, we are just six months away from the release of Jurassic World: Dominion. A new image (via Empire) has been unveiled, giving us our first look at star Chris Pratt fleeing from an Atrociraptor. “Where the Velociraptor is a little bit more of a stealth hunter, the Atrociraptors are a bit more brutish,” director Colin Trevorrow tells Empire, explaining the image you’ll find below. “These things will just come at you. And in this particular case, they’ve picked his scent, and they’re not going to stop until he’s dead. They’re pretty brutal. They’re pretty vicious.” Brilliant filmmaker Colin Trevorrow, who was behind Jurassic World, directs from a script written by Emily Carmichael, based on a story by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and BD Wong are all returning for Dominion as are stars of the original trilogy, Sam Neill, Lauren Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. New cast members include María Gabriela de Faría
