Two sisters, the timid, practical Elizabeth (Mary Buss) and artsy free spirit Alma (Ginger Gilmartin), reconnect with their friend, the suave and worldly writer Wesley (Ben Hall), after two decades apart. Over the course of many (bizarre ’70s era) meals (all announced in separate vignettes), the trio catch up… and we delve deeper and deeper into the triangle’s various psychoses while the atmosphere grows ever more like an extended fever dream where a normal relationship drama becomes something that grows completely into a psychotropic soap opera replete with a “love” triangle, strange offspring, and a whole mess of red wine. Let me sum things up a bit early and announce: “Holy fuck did I love Climate of the Hunter!” Set in a Neo-Romanticized Pseudo-Transylvania (all humble cabins sitting among leafless trees under slate grey skies) of sorts, director Mickey Reece (who also co-wrote the film along with John Selvidge) put a fiercely unique spin on the ol’ vampire biz… yup,

Brilliant filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, whose latest film, Nightmare Alley, has just opened in theaters. The creative genius is not wasting any time and has already moved on to his next project, a stop animation musical adaptation of the 1883 novel, The Adventures of Pinocchio, written by Carlo Collodi. The film is co-directed by Mark Gustafson (“The PJs”) and del Toro, who has teamed up with The Jim Henson Company as well as Netflix Animation for the project. Everyone knows the tale of Pinocchio and everyone knows that story is already a dark one. Del Torro is known for his dark and rich films which makes him the perfect person to make this movie and I’m sure he will find a way to create an even darker side of the tale that centers on a puppet who wants to be a real boy. Del Toro had this to say: [Nightmare Alley and Pinocchio] do have parallels. Obviously, ‘Pinocchio’ has a

The new prequel series to “Game of Thrones,” “House of the Dragon” has fans excited, but they aren’t the only ones excited about the series, George R.R. Martin, whose novels “GOT” is based on, is psyched. Martin, who has seen the rough cut, has teased that fans won’t be disappointed this time, and after the pathetic finale of “GOT,” that says a lot. On Martin’s blog, he reminds fans that even though there are several Marvel series, a “Lord of the Rings” series and Netflix’s adaptation of Neill Gaiman’s “Sandman,” “House of the Dragon” is at the top of IMDb’s most anticipated pole. He also had this to say: “I am anticipating ‘House of the Dragon’ pretty eagerly myself, for what it’s worth. Okay, I am hardly objective. And I know a lot of what you will be seeing. (I, um, wrote the book). Also … mum’s the word now, don’t tell anyone… I’ve seen a rough cut of the
