First Look: Director Compares New ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ Dino To The Joker

Jurassic World: Dominion is finally headed to the big screen this summer. A new image has surfaced from the movie of a Giganotosaurus, “Giga” for short, standing on top of an overturned SUV. The dino, which makes its franchise debut, is based on a real one. “It just wants to watch the world burn,” according to director Colin Trevorrow, who compares the massive creature to the Joker. “I wanted something that felt like the Joker. It just wants to watch the world burn.” Trevorrow told Empire, who debuted the new image. In real life, the Giganotosaurus lived in what is now Argentina during the early Cenomanian age of the Late Cretaceous period around 97 million years ago and has been described as the largest known terrestrial carnivores, even bigger than a T-Rex, with a massive head measuring over six feet long and a mouth full of razor-sharp teeth that averaged eight inches in length. Filming Has Begun For Post-Apocalyptic Irish Horror ‘Woken’

Production is currently underway for the upcoming horror film Woken, the feature directorial debut of Alan Friel, who was behind the 2017 short film Cake (watch it here). Variety reports that the Irish horror stars Erin Kellyman (Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Green Knight) and Maxine Peake (“Anne,” “Rules of the Game”), and is “set on a remote island in the North Sea.” Woken is set against a post-apocalyptic backdrop in which an island provides a safe haven from a pandemic that has ravaged the earth. Anna (Kellyman) wakes up pregnant, unable to remember her husband. “Disbelief in what she is being told leads to a horrible revelation and Anna having to contend with existential issues brought on by man’s destruction of the planet.” Filming has already begun in Ireland for Woken, which is being produced by Fantastic Films.

Screen Media, a Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment company, announced today the acquisition of all North American rights to the psychological thriller Cordelia from Great Point Media. In Cordelia (Antonia Campbell-Hughes), a young woman living in London with her twin sister meets her mysteriously alluring neighbor Frank (Johnny Flynn) for the first time but quickly becomes suspicious of his true motives. With her sister out of town for the weekend, the anxious Cordelia is all alone and consumed by her many fears. She begins to unravel and sink back into past traumas the more Frank tries to charm his way into her life.
