Normally, when we think of a house covered in seasonal lights we think of Christmas, but there is house in Riverside, California, that does Halloween lights like no one else. The house is covered in lights that, are you ready for this, are programmed in sinc with the themed music that is blared over speakers. The light show is so incredible that year after year, videos of the home, owned by a Verizon employee named Kevin Judd, goes viral. If you’re wondering how long it takes to create such a display, Judd has commented that it takes fifteen hours to program each minute of the light show, not counting the hours it takes to put up the lights. It’s well worth it, thousands of people drive from all over to see the show. The videos of the home get more than a million hits each year. On Friday, October 9th, BBQ Films threw one big bloody party, no, I actually mean a bloody party. The party was a recreation of the night club scene from Blade. You know the one, where blood rains down on the dance floor, of course the rave’s blood was synthetic. The event was music was provided by several DJs, including The Crystal Method, Pictureplane and others, it also featured live performances and took place at Terminal 5 in Manhattan. The event also held a screening of, you guessed it, ‘Blade’. Scenes from the film were even acted out on stage during the show. Of course it was fitting that some of the price of each ticket was donated to the American Red Cross. If you ask me, it looks like it was one killer party. Many of the vampire genre’s most recent hits come from the international stage, such as New Zealand’s ‘What We Do in the Shadows‘, Iran’s ‘A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night‘, and Sweden’s ‘Let the Right One In’, just to name a few . Now Argentina is looking to sink it’s teeth into the horror genre with the vampire film ‘Children of the Night’ (aka Limbo). In the film Alice (Sabrina Ramos), a journalist, travels to a remote colony, where children are suffering from a strange incurable illness and only venture outside after sunset. Erda, a strange overly religious woman, played by Ana Maria Gjunta, is the children’s caretaker and the only adult living in the colony. Alice is unaware the she has entered a colony of vampires and that the colony has new plans for humanity. ‘Children of the Night’ was written, directed and produced by Ivan Noel. Filmmaker Adam Ripp will explore the curse that supposedly has plagued the cast and crew of Steven Spielberg’s ‘Poltergeist’ franchise, in a new documentary, titled ‘The Curse of Poltergeist’. Ripp’s company, Vega Baby, will be financing and producing the documentary in conjunction with MD Pictures. THR quoted Ripp as saying “The documentary will focus on the life and experiences of Poltergeist actor Oliver Robins, who played Robbie Freeling in the first and second installment of the franchise, as a way to explore the tragedies that have befallen those involved with the films. It will be a journey into the unknown as I attempt to understand the meaning behind the tragedies surrounding the movie.” He continued “It’s something that will hopefully bring closure to a dark chapter in my life.” Several people involved with ‘Poltergeist’ met horrible fates, including Heather O’Rourke, who played the role of Carol Anne. This list is for them. 1.Beetlejuice (1988) After a couple are killed in an accident they have to find a way to deal with the family that has purchased their home. They turn to a shady character, known as Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice is more than they bargained for and now they have to find a way to get rid of him. ‘Beetlejuice’ was directed by Tim Burton and stars Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton, Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin. This horror-comedy is a classic and is the perfect film for beginners. 2.Ghostbusters (1984) After a group of scientist capture a spirit, a new business is born. In ‘The Quantum Terror’ Samantha’s twin sister Silvia has disappeared. Ahead of July 11’s San Diego Comic-Con, Screen Gems has released a series of photos from the long awaited movie ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ via Entertainment Weekly. The movie was both written and directed by Burr Steers, based on the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith and Jane Austin. ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ stars Jack Huston, Lily James, Bella Heathcote , Charles Dance, Lena Heady, Douglas Booth and ‘Dr. Who’ actor Matt Smith. In the fashion of Jane Austin’s classic tale a zombie outbreak has plagued the area. Relationships, made complex by the difference of their social classes in 19th century England, are put to the test as the undead rise. Lily James, who plays the role of the movie’s heroine Elizabeth Bennet, has made the comment “Rather than knitting and crocheting, they’re polishing muskets.” and Elizabeth is “the most badass zombie slayer there is.” Unlike in the 2005 ‘Pride and Prejudice’, this film is full of lovely ladies wielding

‘Kong: Skull Island’ has added John Ortiz (Silver Linings Playbook) and ‘Agent Carter’ actor Shea Whigham to their cast, which also includes Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston and John C. Reilly . The movie will begin filming early next year and will see release 2017. Ortiz and Whigham The film, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, follows a man (Hiddleston) who travels to a legendary island in search for his brother who was stranded, while in search of a serum that is believed to be a cure all for any illness or disease. During the search the team must face the creatures on the island, including Kong, King of the Apes and dinosaurs, long thought to be extinct.

If you were between the ages of 7-15 in the mid-90’s, you’ll no doubt have fond memories of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps series. It started with Welcome to Dead House back in ’92, a television series from ’95-’98, and has now made it’s way as a feature film due out in just over a week. On top of all that, WayForward has developed a game based on the series to coincide with the movie’s release. While most of WayForward’s games have been platformers, Goosebumps will be a Point-and-Click horror mystery – which reminds me a lot of the Choose Your Own Adventure style Goosebumps books. It seems like it will take you all over the Goosebumps world, encountering all our favourite creatures of the past. It’s got a cool cartoon art style, which is excellent for such a franchise. Rated E, it fits in nicely somewhere between fun and cartoony while still achieving the creepiness and scares Goosebumps is known for.
