Ryan Murphy, creator of “American Horror Story” has revealed a few more tidbits about his upcoming “AHS” spinoff anthology series, “American Horror Stories.” Murphy took to Instagram today saying, “We are doing 16 one-hour stand-alone episodes delving into horror myths, legends, and lore…many of these episodes will feature AHS stars you know and love. More to follow…” Back in May, the spinoff was announced as the 10th season of “AHS” was delayed due to the pandemic. But don’t panic, “AHS” will be back in 2021 on both FX and Hulu. It’s really no surprise that long time series regular Sarah Paulson will be involved in the spinoff, however, it may not be on screen. Tuesday Paulson stated during a Netflix panel for Murphy’s other series “Ratched” in which she also stars, that, “I’ll be directing something.” Deadline reports that their sources have described the new project as a companion anthology series to “AHS” with each episode being a stand-alone ghost

“Servent,” the series from executive produced by M. Night Shyamala is getting a second season early next year on Apple TV. We’ve got the first images and the trailer from season two that tease Season two “takes a supernatural turn with a darker future for all lying ahead as Leanne returns to the brownstone and her true nature is revealed.” Series regulars Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free, and Rupert Grint will all be returning to reprise their roles. Created by executive producer and writer Tony Basgallop, the series is also executive produced by Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch. Co-executive producers include Patrick Markey and Taylor Latham. Season two of “Servant” premieres on Apple TV+ on January 15, 2021, with new episodes airing every Friday.

Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium service for horror, thriller, and the supernatural, announced today that it has teamed up with award-winning production company Shaftesbury to make a new eight-episode installment of the hugely popular horror series, “Slasher”. “Slasher: Flesh & Blood” follows a wealthy but dysfunctional family gathering for a reunion on a secluded island. Their old wounds and competitive rivalries flare up when the family realizes a masked killer is on the island, intent on cruelly picking them off one by one. As with the past installments of the series, Slasher: Flesh & Blood will combine elements of a traditional murder mystery with the intense horror and bold kills that audiences have come to expect. Remember ol’ Train to Busan, the story of a father trying hard as fuck to get his daughter to her mother via train during a zombie apocalypse? That one had suspense, human drama, and plenty of gut munchers, and seemed like a breath of fresh air among the fetid pile that is the over-saturated zombie film genre. That brings us to Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula, the follow up to that aforementioned fright flick, and while the zombies remain, little else from the first go-around remains. In a prologue set during the time of the first film, we get a touch of that ol’ magic from the first film as South Korean Marine Captain Jung-seok (Gang Dong-won) tries unsuccessfully to flee the zombie menace along with his sister and her family (only her husband and the Captain survive), on a boat that is soon overrun with the infected. AMC Networks’ streaming network Shudder has closed a deal, obtaining the rights to The Banishing, Christopher Smith’s supernatural horror film starring Jessica Brown Findlay, John Heffernan, John Lynch, and Sean Harris, which made its world premiere at Sitges earlier this month. Deadline reports that the film, set in England in the 1930s, “tells the story of a young reverend, his wife, and daughter who move into a manor with a horrifying secret. When a vengeful spirit haunts the little girl and threatens to tear the family apart, the reverend and his wife are forced to confront their beliefs. They must turn to black magic by seeking the help of a famous Occultist or risk losing their daughter.” Having long been fans of his impeccably crafted, wonderfully terrifying films, we are delighted to be bringing Chris Smith’s latest horror treat to Shudder,” said Emily Gotto, Shudder’s Global Head of Acquisitions. Prometheus actress Noomi Repace is set to star in the lead role for the film adaptation of Jerker Virdborg‘s thriller Black Crab from Netflix. Adam Berg (In) is making his feature debut after a long career in the music video and commercial industries. Malin Idevall and Mattias Montero are producing the movie that will be filmed in 2021 in Sweden, Deadline reports. “Set in a post-apocalyptic world during an endless winter, the film follows six soldiers who are sent on a dangerous mission across the frozen sea to transport a package that could finally end the war.” Deadline quotes Rapace as saying, “I’m very excited to come back to Sweden and do Black Crab. My first Swedish film in years. Can’t wait to get suited up and go on this journey – explore human shadows and slide through broken dreams and a world on edge. Survival to what price?”

Amazon Studio‘s new supernatural original series “The Rig” will take us out to sea. The six-part series has now been given the green light by Amazon with John Strickland (“Line of Duty”) helming the project. Deadline reports that “The series is set onboard the Kishorn Bravo oil rig, stationed off the Scottish coast in the dangerous waters of the North Sea. When the crew are due to return to the mainland, a mysterious and all-enveloping fog rolls through and they find themselves cut off from all communication with the shore and the outside world. As they endeavor to discover what’s driving this force, bonds are broken, allegiances formed and generational fault lines exposed.” The project comes from writer David Macpherson and UK producer Wild Mercury Productions, who was behind Troy: Fall of a City and the third seasons of “Humans.” “The Rig” is being described as a “character-driven, epic thriller, full of heart-grabbing action and bold, original ideas,” by Derek

We have sad news for fans of Hulu’s original series “Castle Rock” series. After just two seasons, the streaming network has canceled the series based on the world created by Stephen King. Deadline reported the news and stated “there were no expectations for a third installment, and the decision to end the series after two seasons was made awhile ago. Once one of the first suppliers of Hulu after it branched out into premium original content, Warner Bros. TV has focused its attention to supplying recently launched sibling HBO Max. There are no plans for Castle Rock to continue on HBO Max, we hear.” “Castle Rock” premiered back in 2018 with the first season centering on Bill Skarsgård‘s character, a mysterious inmate at Shawshank State Penitentiary.
