The deeply disturbing horror film The Family, from the creative duo Dan Slater (director, co-writer) and Adam Booth (producer, co-writer), is set to make its World Premiere at the Busan International Film Festival on October 8, 2021. Ahead of its debut, we’ve got the trailer. The Family delves into brooding and unpredictable family ethics. The feature redefines the notion of terror and explores psychological and physical trauma in a genre-bending sinister tale. Raised to fear what lurks beyond the borders of their farm, a young family must free themselves from the tyrannical rule of their merciless Father and Mother. The co-writers Slater and Booth were inspired by the vulnerability of people and the ability of cults to exploit their fears and beliefs to separate them from the rest of the world. Director Rene Perez takes us back to the old west with his action-packed indie horror The Legend of Hawes. In the film, “A lethal gunman (Hawes) is hired to track down a group of bloodthirsty marauders who have been attacking frontier homes. The marauders are from a dying race of ravenous subhumans. They wear the torn faces of their victims to instill fear. When Hawes finally catches up to them, he finds himself in the blood-soaked fight of his life as he faces death and his own faith.” Filmed at Hawes Ranch in California, the movie stars Emily Whitcomb, Richard Tyson, Tony Jackson, and introduces Mike Markoff as Hawes. The Legend of Hawes will be released in 2022.

The Farm 51 and All in! Games were awesome enough to allow me the chance to explore the decaying ruins of Pripyat and the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone in Chernobylite, an FPS survival game that takes players to the most radiated zone in the world. In Chernobylite players take on the role of Igor, a Ukrainian physicist, who worked at Chernobyl doing research involving interdimensional travel along with his fiancé who went missing during the meltdown of the power plant. After the disaster, a new element was made that Igor is studying called Chernobylite that also has attracted the attention of the NAR who have taken over the wasteland. Along with the human threat, there are now also mysterious creatures that thanks to the Chernobylite, have traverse dimensions and now stalk the wasteland. Now onto the game itself! Once you get the game starting players will have to adjust the sensitivity as I noticed at the start I turn too slow,

The first poster and trailer have arrived for the French (English subtitled) horror-thriller, The Lodger. The film stars Jacqueline Bisset (“Bullitt”, “The Spiral Staircase”) and Alice Isaaz (“Elle”, “Savage State”) and is directed by Baptiste Drapeau from a screenplay written by Ollivier Briand. In the haunting film, an elderly woman (Bisset) takes in a lodger (Isaaz), offering accommodation in return for help around the house. The eccentric woman behaves as if her long-deceased husband is still alive. But soon the lodger begins to feel his presence. The award-winning British folk horror Sacrilege, from writer-director David Creed, is set to make its American arrival later this month, and demands that you “face your fears”. Tamaryn Payne (Hollyoaks), Emily Wyatt (Rise of the Footsoldier), Sian Abrahams (Complete Strangers), Naomi Willow (A Guide to Second Date Sex), and Ian Champion (Property) star in the film, that follows four lifelong friends who head to a remote lodge for a weekend of fun. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly descends into a fight for their lives when a local Pagan cult offers them up to their Goddess as a sacrifice for the Solstice. Sacrilege was produced and filmed in the South West of England where Producer Mark Kenna and Writer/ Director David Creed reside.
