Netflix Kills Off "Resident Evil" After Just One Season

First Monster Filled Trailer Debuts For Netflix’s “Resident Evil” Series

Netflix has just released the first look at their new “Resident Evil” series with a teaser trailer. While it doesn’t give much of the series’ plot, we do get a glimpse at a world over-run by a virus developed by the sinister Umbrella Corporation. We see Albert Wesker (Lance Reddick) experimenting on a rat with blood drawn from his daughters Billie and Jade. The trailer also teases that there will be a time jump and characters fighting to survive in the post-apocalyptic world filled with grotesque creatures. The series, whose first season will include eight one-hour episodes, will mainly center on Jade Wesker in the year 2036, and her living in London. Beyond simply living in a world overrun by the undead, Jade will need to confront her past in New Raccoon City while coming to terms with the tragic death of her sister and the shadow of her evil father. The cast also includes Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena

Movie Review: “The Innocents”

Movie Review: “The Innocents”

Do your best not to learn much at all about writer/director Eskil Vogt’s Norwegian film The Innocents (De uskyldige; 2021) — my review will be free of spoilers — and you will be rewarded with one of the most gripping slices of fear-fare involving children in recent memory. This eerie feature has solidified one of the top spots on my list of favorite horror films of this year. Nine-year-old Ida (Rakel Lenora Flottum) is fed up with the extra attention that her parents (Ellen Dorrit Petersen, Flottum’s real-life mother, and Morten Svartveit) bestow on her older autistic sister Anna (Alva Brynsmo Ramstad), signaled at the beginning of the film with Ida hurting her sister, who doesn’t outwardly express pain. The family moves into an apartment in a tower block at the edge of a wooded area, where Ida meets loners Ben (Sam Ashraf) and Aisha (Mina Yasmin Bremseth Asheim). Ida is fascinated with what seem to be supernatural powers displayed

Tubi Releases Two New Horror Originals, ‘Teardrop’ & ‘Scariest Monsters In America’

Now, we are here to let you know that the free streaming service that features over 10,000 horror and thrillers, has just released two new original horror films, Teardrop and Scariest Monsters in America. In Teardrop, directed by Steven R. Monroe and written by Spyder Dobrofsky, an aspirational writer working as a teacher takes his students on a field trip to explore the history of an off-the-map ghost town, which happens to be the subject of his next book. His family ties have brought him back to the haunted location, but what does this mean for the safety of his class? Scariest Monsters in America explores the fact that in each U.S. state, stories of monsters living amongst us have been used to scare children and warn sinners away from misbehavior. But which of these bogeymen brings the biggest

The ‘Toxic Avenger’ Reboot Scores A Hard “R” Rating For Gore And Violence

Fans of Troma’s classic film The Toxic Avenger will be happy to learn that the new remake has just scored a hard “R” rating for gore, extreme violence, and graphic nudity. Let’s be honest, any other rating wouldn’t be fitting. Macon Blair (I Don’t Feel At Home in This World Anymore, Green Room) is directing the reboot for Legendary, which has wrapped production. The new movie “follows Winston, a stereotypical weakling who works as a janitor at Garb-X health club and is diagnosed with a terminal illness that can only be cured by an expensive treatment that his greedy, power-hungry employer refuses to pay for. After deciding to take matters into his own hands and rob his company, Winston falls into a pit of toxic waste and is transformed into a deformed monster that sets out to do good and get back at all the people who have wronged him.” The cast includes Elijah Wood (Maniac, Come to Daddy), Julia

Movie Reviews: “Dashcam” and “Presence” (Panic Fest)

Movie Reviews: “Dashcam” and “Presence” (Panic Fest)

Dashcam Director Rob Savage follows up his highly acclaimed 2020 feature Host with Dashcam. It’s a freaky effort that uses an intriguing style that falls somewhere between direct cinema and found footage. There’s much to recommend about the film, though the lead character is so grating — no matter which way your politics lie — that it cancels out some of Dashcam’s goodwill. Musician and anti-vaxxer Annie Hardy plays a revved-up version of herself, hosting a livestreaming show in which she raps in an improv style while driving around in her car. In an effort to escape what she feels is the overbearing strictness toward COVID-19 in the United States to visit an old bandmate Stretch (Amar Chadha-Patel) in the U.K. — obviously, she didn’t do much homework before purchasing her ticket. She wreaks havoc in Stretch’s life before stealing his car and winds up picking up a sick elderly woman (Angela Enahoro), but the woman isn’t merely sick, and
