You don’t know this, but the only thing I love as much as horror are musicals, so when I got the opportunity to talk to actor, Tony Award-winner, and Broadway star Shuler Hensley I jumped at the chance. Known for his roles in films like Van Helsing, Odd Thomas, The Greatest Showman, “The OA”, and Cruiser as well as Broadway musicals such as Phantom of the Opera, Young Frankenstein, and Oklahoma, Shuler filled us in on a little of everything. I not only talked with Hensley about his role in the 2004 horror film Van Helsing but also Cruiser, the indie horror thriller from director Randy Ser and writer Sam Hensley Jr. The film follows a killer (Hensley) who after murdering a cop, steals his patrol car and sets off on a night of carnage and terror in a small Georgia town. Horror Fuel: “I really want to talk to you about your film career, but first, I have to

Patrick (Gianni Dei) is sent into a coma courtesy of some asshole hucking a bottle into his puss from a passing van, and finds himself a resident of his father’s remote, posh spa where he lays in a bed in a room bathed in Bava light; his eyes permanently open (and the soundtrack cranked to ‘Theremin Hootenanny Mix’ full fuckin’ blast). Speaking of Patrick’s eyes; they seem to appear before some of those that stray past his room… and those floatin’ outre orbs contain nothing but malice… and perhaps just a dash of the hornies… Before you can say; “Boy howdy, there sure are a lot of naked tiddies in this film”, we learn that Patrick can make people do his telepathic bidding, plus he can hike up a lady’s skirt with his vast mental abilities (which is perhaps the truest representation of what someone would do with mental powers that I’ve ever seen committed to film)… How is all

From the over-sexed grandparents to the squabbling siblings and an emotionless husband who seems uninterested in touching his wife – all appears normal for this particular household. That is until a gang of vicious vagrants invades their home, not only to cause havoc, pain, and death but also laying bare everyone’s faults and inhumanity while exposing some deeper family secrets along the way. Produced by Udoy Rahim and co-produced by Mark Newton and Matt Stryker, Derelicts premiered at the Telluride Horror Show Film Festival in 2017. Remember ol’ Train to Busan, the story of a father trying hard as fuck to get his daughter to her mother via train during a zombie apocalypse? That one had suspense, human drama, and plenty of gut munchers, and seemed like a breath of fresh air among the fetid pile that is the over-saturated zombie film genre. That brings us to Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula, the follow up to that aforementioned fright flick, and while the zombies remain, little else from the first go-around remains. In a prologue set during the time of the first film, we get a touch of that ol’ magic from the first film as South Korean Marine Captain Jung-seok (Gang Dong-won) tries unsuccessfully to flee the zombie menace along with his sister and her family (only her husband and the Captain survive), on a boat that is soon overrun with the infected. Flash forward four years, and Chul-min (Kim Do-yoon), that previously mentioned husband

Jordan Peele is a busy guy. Not only does he have multiple series currently on TV including “Twilight Zone,” “Hunters,” and the brilliant series “Lovecraft Country” he’s also been busy producing films including Nia DaCosta’s Candyman. We reported last week that Peele is working on a remake of The People Under the Stairs. Now, news has come that on top of all that, the Get Out and Us filmmaker has just inked a deal with Universal Pictures. The new arrangement gives Peele a sweet five-year production deal. One of the films to be included is reportedly a remake of Nightmare of Elm Street. But wait, there’s more! Peele is currently working on his next film, which he will direct, and he is already promising it will be scarier than both Get Out and Us. While we don’t know much about the movie, we do know it will be released on July 22, 2022.
