Kasper Meltedhair’s Busted Babies is going to be a real bitch and a half to try and explain to you cats n’ creeps, but here fuckin’ goes… “______” (Kasper Meltedhair), is a strange lady possessing horns, polka dot skin, and strap-on bat wings. Our heroine can also turn babies to glass… which is of interest to a dancing gaggle of suited dudes that gain immortality when showered in the broken glass babies… Things get stranger as our non-linear, fever-dream narrative takes us through a world of bizarre folks (creatures?) that inhabit a world of odd punk rock shows, bizarre parties, and absolute brazen insanity. They way this psychotronic whirlwind is presented is as imaginative as it is mind-shatteringly weird. When it comes to films, one of the most important jobs behind the camera doesn’t get the credit it deserves. I’m talking about the editors who take a string of shots and images and turn them into the movies we know and love. It’s not an easy job, and it truly makes a film what it is. I was excited when I got the confirmation that I would be sitting down with film editor Brian Philip Davis. The man knows horror. After all, he served as editor for some great films, including the vampire movie Boys from County Hell. And he recently reunited with Oddity filmmaker Damian McCarthy for Hokum, one of the biggest horror films of the year. And if you’ve seen it, you know exactly why I’m so excited about it. Depending on what you were looking for, Summer Game Fest kind of disappointed this year, with some games people have already heard about and no new excitement… then Horror showed up! SEGA, back on Alien Day (April 26th), had a teaser trailer up that made fans excited for the long-awaited sequel to Alien: Isolation, and today they confirmed and did not disappoint! Alien: Isolation 2 will take players to a remote, storm-ravaged colony world. Players will endure the elements as they navigate the planet’s surface and explore the claustrophobic confines of the Weyland-Yutani outpost of Kurosaki Station.
