Crispin Glover (“American Gods”), who recently appeared as the hooded figure in Smiley Face Killers has signed on to star as a series regular in HBO Max’s psychological thriller series “Red Bird Lane.” The series, directed by “Hannibal’s” David Slade, and “follows eight strangers who arrive at an isolated house, all for different reasons. Upon their mysterious and coincidental arrival, the strangers realize that something sinister and terrifying awaits them. Glover will play Jonah, a bad man who arrives at the mysterious house in the center of the thriller for money.” Deadline is reporting that the cast also includes James Urbaniak, Jamie Clayton, Rya Kihlstedt, Susan Sarandon, Kiersey Clemons, and Grantham Coleman as recurring characters with Damon Dayoub making a cameo. Sara Gran (“Southland”) wrote the script.

We are getting an adaptation of Todd Grimson’s horror novel “Brand New Cherry Flavor” as series from Netflix. “Brand New Cherry Flavor” centers on Lisa Nova (Salazar), an aspiring film director in the sun-drenched but seamy world of 1990 Los Angeles who embarks on a mind-altering journey — from the streets of Beverly Hills to the forests of Brazil — to seek supernatural revenge. Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel) will lead the cast that also includes Catherine Keener (Get Out), Eric Lange (Escape at Dannemora), Jeff Ward (“Agents of Shield”), Hannah Levien (The Magicians, Siren), Manny Jacinto (“The Good Place”), Leland Orser (I Am The Night, Berlin Station), and Patrick Fischler (The Right Stuff, Defending Jacob) Deadline reports. Not long ago at the Game Awards, fans of the “Dead Space” franchise got to see the trailer for The Callisto Protocol that’s being made by the same creative team behind the legendary sci-fi horror. Today, the game’s developer Striking Distance has released the new Red Band cinematic trailer for The Callisto Protocol. The game takes place on the moon Callisto in prison as otherworldly horrors begin to run rampant. Not much else is known about the full story at the moment but hints in the trailer indicate that new arrivals at the prison will have to fight for their survival. The Callisto Protocol is set for a 2022 release.

Following its international premiere at Sundance’s 2021 film festival, Madeleine Sims-Fewer and Dusty Mancinelli’s chilling debut feature Violation is heading exclusively to Shudder, AMC Networks’ premiere streaming service for horror, thriller, and the supernatural. A strange knocking drives a young woman to the brink of madness following a traumatic event in Frida Kempff‘s (Meet the Artist) Knocking, debuting at Sundance’s virtual film festival as part of the “Midnight Section” this January. The film centers on a woman (Molly) who has just experienced a traumatic incident is unnerved by a haunting knocking sound from upstairs in her new apartment building. As the noises become more desperate and increasingly sound like cries for help, she confronts her neighbors, but it seems no one else can hear them. In an unsettling quest for truth, Molly soon realizes that no one believes her, and begins to question if she even believes herself – a realization that is perhaps even more chilling.
